Established in 1907, the Virtuoso Program is a unique music program that consists of female string players attending the San Domenico School in San Anselmo, California. String players in the program are involved in rigorous music conservatory courses such as chamber music, orchestra, and master classes. Having won the title of National Grand Championship Winner in 2005 and 2008 at the National Orchestra Festival, the Virtuoso Program is known as one of the best orchestras in the United States, acclaimed by many well known figures of the music world.The Bella Virtuosa Quartet was created in 2008 and is made up of four highly experienced string players that are both alumni and current students of the VP program. As musically dedicated players, the Bella Virtuosa Quartet was created to allow others to experience excellence in chamber music performance by members of the Virtuoso Program. The quartet is open to play at any social events, weddings, and other special occasions.
