Like Chapel Hill, Sugarland has deep southern roots and international flair.

Our wedding and other special occasion cakes are made fresh, never frozen, which means they are as delicious as they are beautiful. Your guests will tell you its the best cake they've ever had. With incredible flavors like Banana Nutella, Wimbledon, and Casey's Cake, rich with passion fruit and fresh raspberries, you've never had cake like this before.

The pastry chefs at Sugarland take pride in using local flour from Alamance County, eggs from Roxboro and butter and dairy from right here in North Carolina to produce amazing, fresh, beautiful cakes for your wedding, birthday, or other celebration.

We never use hydrogenated oils or high frustose corn syrup, and choose organic ingredients whenever they are available. We even grow our own berries! Our chocolate is fair trade and comes directly to us from South America, and even our vanilla extract is blended just for us from organic, fair trade sources.

All that quality gets noticed!! Sugarland has been recognized by Southern Living, Our State Magazine, and Good Morning America. We've been featured on T.V's Food Network, and Carolina's Today Show on Today Gives Away a Wedding. The News and Observer rated our cupcakes the best in the Triangle, The Independent gaves us the Best Birthday Cake Award in 2009, and Metro Magazine gave us a Bravo Award for best Wedding Cakes in 2010.

I went to 5 or 6 other well known bakeries before trying Sugarland. Their cake was delicious...all of the flavors so good, it was difficult to choose. The artwork & attention to details was amazing. Katrina & her staff designed our Wedding Cake to look just like the Durham Bulls Athletic Park & hand made figures to that looked like each member of our family...My husband, myself, 5 children & 3 dogs...Everyone absolutely loved the cake :) & cupcakes we gave as favors.
 


Best cake around, hands down! Katrina's cupcakes are my favorite thing on Franklin St. and I know when one of my couples hires Sugarland, their cake is going to be the centerpiece of their reception both visually and edibly. But Sugarland isn't just a cake bakery. Their gelato and gelato martinis are the perfect out-of-the-box treat for your reception or after party (or both!) The blood-orange is my favorite, but no true Carolina fan can pass up the Tartini!
