Describe your DJ style:
At Something New Entertainment, we think YOUR style is more important! We specialize in creating a celebration that expresses your unique tastes and personalities. We want to play the songs that you and your guests love best to keep your party fun and memorable until the very end of the evening! What's your dream for your wedding? You can count on Something New Entertainment to share your vision!
What is your usual attire?
We dress appropriate to your event. Generally, our gentlemen wear black and white tuxedos and our ladies wear neutral-colored evening attire. If your wedding is more casual or has a theme, we are happy to adjust based on your preferences.
If you do not have one of the songs pre-requested by the client, do you require that they provide it?
We will make every effort to obtain your special requests for your event at no charge. We ask that couples finalize their special requests two weeks prior to the event to ensure that we have all of your favorites available. However, if this is not possible, we'll be happy to use your personal copy.
What is the minimum amount of time you will DJ for?
Our minimum time is generally four hours, though we do recommend a minimum length of five hours -- one hour for cocktails, one hour for dinner, one hour for special events, and two hours for dancing.
Is the client able to meet the DJ before booking?
Absolutely! We believe that it's important for you to have an opportunity to meet with the Lead DJ for your event well in advance of your wedding day! We will spend time with you talking about your own sense of style, favorite music, must-play and do-not-play lists, and going over the schedule of events for your reception with you.
Do you bring your own equipment?
We have complete, professional-grade equipment, including speakers, stands, mixer, computer, microphones, and music.
How much time do you usually need to set up? Do you require that the site or client provide a table for you to set up on?
We normally arrive one hour prior to your event start time to set up. We do not charge for set-up time. We request that the hall have electricity and a small table available to us. If a table is not available, please let us know in advance, and we will make other arrangements for a table.
Do you usually emcee the event or talk between songs?
Your Lead DJ will serve as your Master of Ceremonies (MC or emcee), and will provide a professional voice for the announcement of your special events. Generally, we do not talk between songs with the exception of making these special announcements.
What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal?
We are delighted to have a meal at your event if you are so gracious to provide us with one! However, this is not required, and if this is not possible, simply let us know in advance, and we will make other arrangements. We will eat in shifts so that your event is always staffed.
