About Shannon Finney

Alexandria, Virginia based Shannon Finney Photography specializes in wedding photography, as well as private and corporate event photography, portraiture, and fine art photography. Award-winning photographer Shannon Finney founded Shannon Finney Photography in order to add her distinct point of view to photography.

Winner of the 2009 FotoWeek DC international photography competition, Shannon Finney's work has appeared in The Washington Post, as well as numerous other publications. She photographs official Washington, DC, as well as the performers and artistic directors of the theatre and music scene. She covers the world with her camera, photographing people and their stories from Bangkok to Budapest to Baltimore.

Shannon holds a masters degree from Boston University and a bachelor of arts from Randolph-Macon College. As a photographer, she blends her unique background as a communicator with her technical camerawork to craft images that are stylish, yet intimate. Using a documentary style of photography, Shannon's philosophy is that every picture tells a story.
