Do you offer special techniques such as hand-coloring or toning?
We customize packages to suit our brides needs. As a standard, we shoot in both color and bw, and do all of our editing. From time to time, clients as us to hand color or convert images to sepia. This can easily be done upon request.
Do you have experience shooting in various lighting situations?
We are prepared for any/all lighting situations. Our favorite light to shoot in is ambient (where flash is not necessary.) Our goal is to provide images that reflect the way your event was truly seen. We do not bring additional lighting equipment, other than on camera flashes. When we do shoot with flash, the light is bounced for a more flattering outcome. One of our favorite outdoor lighting situations is overcast, as it provides more even lighting on skin tones.
Is your media preference film or digital?
We shoot primarily 35 mm digital, with a small percentage of film.
How many photographers do you work with?
Clients have the option of hiring one or two photographers to cover their event.
Do you guarantee your presence at the actual event?
Yes we do.
Do you sometimes book yourself for more than one event in a day? Weekend?
We make it a practice to only photograph one event per day, and most of the time one event per WEEKEND.
Do you have a replacement photographer in case you become unavailable on the day of the event?
Yes we do.
What kind of equipment do you typically bring with you on the day-of?
We shoot in Canon 35 mm digital. Typically, we bring 3-4 camera bodies with us to an event, along with several fixed and zoom lenses.
Do you bring back-up equipment to the event in case of malfunction?
Yes.
Do you charge hourly or full day?
We offer an hourly rate to our clients so they can customize a package to suit their needs. Most clients book 8 hours (which is considered a full day for us.)
Are you available to shoot extra hours? If yes, how much do you charge for extra hours?
Yes, overtime is available at the same hourly rate of $350 per hour.
What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal?
One short break to eat.
Do you charge for travel?
If the travel extends beyond our local servicing area of Baltimore, Virginia or Washington DC, then yes, a travel fee is required.
How soon after the event are the proofs ready for viewing?
Event images are posted 6-8 weeks after the event.
In what format are the initial proofs offered?
Clients will have their own personal wedding website, and will also own a high resolution DVD of all digital images captured.
How long can the client keep the proofs?
Forever!
Do you retain the copyright for the photos?
No we do not.
Do you reserve the right to publish the photos?
Yes we do.
Do you provide the digital files and/or negatives (or copies of the negatives) to the client?
Yes we do.
Will images be available for viewing online?
Yes, through www.pictage.com.
What kind of albums do you offer?
We offer leatherbound storybook albums that the client will participate in designing.
When will the client get the final album?
Once images are selected by the client, designs will be online wihtin 2 weeks. Once clients approved their designs and finalize any revisions, books go to print. It takes about 6 weeks to have albums printed and bound after clients give us the ok to print.
