About Us
Every bride has a wedding day story to tell. Let me tell you mine. My husband and I were on a very stict budget, and though I knew the value of hiring a wedding consultant, I could not figure out how to add this into our budget. I was doing pretty well wearing all of my hats of bride, daughter, mother, accountant, and consultant until the week prior to the wedding date. I was working full-time and all the stores I needed to get to closed at 5 PM. I knew I was in for it when I could not get the day before my wedding off from work. That night my mom, dad, brother and I went to the site to decorate, but even when we left there was still more to be done. The wedding day began with a trip to get my hair done (3 hour process). I did not leave to complete my errands until about 12 PM. Luckily the wedding did not start until 6 PM. During my "relaxing" appointment, I received about a dozen or so calls from my panicked future husband with questions about picking up the chairs, food, and other things he was completing on the day of. After helping the groom, I raced from the salon to run a couple of errands myself, and then Iit was time for me to become the bride while my mom and mother-in-law finished decorating. Everything seemed to be coming together pretty well until about 30 minutes till' showtime. In all of the chaos of the day, my future husband had forgotten the rings at our house... a whole hour away from the ceremony site. Our 6 PM wedding did not start until about 8:30 PM. Once the wedding day was over, it was time to put on our clean-up hats. I put on my director hat as we tried to figure out how to avoid late fees by getting the rental chairs back on time. My new husband and his friends spent hours cleaning and loading chairs onto our friend's truck. We did not get home until 2 AM. Needless to say, we did not get up at 4 AM as we had planned to start our 18 hour honeymoon road trip to Florida from Houston, Texas. My friends and family helped out alot our wedding day and everything was beautiful, but if I could change anything, I would have hired help to avoid turning my wedding guests into workers. The point here is that any wedding that ends in a marriage is a great wedding, but all the details can change the stress level as well as the way you remember your wedding. So I ask you, what will your story be? Rockett Events can cater to any budget and can help you create a plan to cater to the needs of you and your groom as well as the needs of your wedding day.
