As a Disc Jockey, I have been to just about every hall in New Jersey. With that said, I can tell you that The River Queen and The River Belle are not your typical reception halls. The cruise and it's views will far surpass your expectations. Knowing the owners and staff for over 20 years, I promise you that they take the time to understand your wedding and will work to create a reception that you will remember for years to come.
In the summer of 2005, I was married and had my reception on the River Queen. The Bogan family and there professional staff made my special day go off flawlessly. From the planning phase to the end of the event, Sharon answered all my questions and made sure that evey detail was as I requested. Our cruise started at 5:00 pm, we shared a beautiful scenery and a stunning sunset with our quests. The food was plentiful and of the highest quality. We had 125 quests aboard and we had more than enough room for everyone to eat, drink, dance and be merry. A few of our quests were initially nervous about being on the water, but any nervousness was quickly dispelled as the protected waters made for smooth sailing. Are there any special characteristics about this venue such as scenery or architecture? The River Belle & River Queen are replicas of Mississippi riverboats, featuring mahogany wood throughout, decorative wall scones and three exterior decks for guests to enjoy the spectacular scenery. Panoramic views are seen from every vantage point along with some of the most gorgeous homes and breathtaking sunsets. Both boats are fully heated and air conditioned for you cruising comfort.
How many people does the space *comfortably* accommodate? The River Belle and River Queen accommodate up to 140 passengers, with two interior deck salons and three exterior decks there is more than enough room for dancing, sightseeing, star gazing and private conversation.
How does your venue determine the cost of the space? Based on the size of your group, the time and day you wish to sail and the menu you have chosen will determine your cost.
Do you offer any special packages for rehearsal dinners? Yes, we have a number of packages that will accommodate smaller groups, ideal for a rehearsal dinner or bridal shower.
Do you offer an on-site wedding consultant? Yes
What is your staff-to-guest ratio? There is 1 crew member to every 15 guests.
Do you require brides to use a specific list of vendors? No we do not, but I have an excellent list of vendors that I have worked with throughout the past 22 years.
Do you require the wedding party to use your musicians? If you do not require this, is there an additional fee to bring in one's own musicians? Our clients are more than welcome to bring the entertainment of their choice, for no additional fees.
Do you have cooking facilities? Yes
Do you provide your own catering? If yes, can a bride opt to use an outside caterer if she prefers? Yes, we have a chef for all of your menu planning. Sorry no outside catering.
Do you have a liquor license? Yes
Can the bride provide her own alcohol if desired? Sorry, you cannot bring aboard any types of alcohol, that is against ABC regulations. We are happy to accommodate any special requests for the beverages you desire.
How many power outlets does the venue have? Numerous outlets are placed on both decks and in both the bow and stern of the boat.
Does your venue often accommodate more than one wedding at a time? No, we feel a brides day is special and should not be shared!
Describe your bathroom facilities: The bathrooms are located just inside the cabin as you enter on the lower deck. They are quaint, one person at a time facilities.
Describe your parking facilities: The marina where the boats sail from has enough "designated Riverboat" parking for 140 cars, the boats capacity.
