About
Good photography is more than just recording an event on film. It tells a story, evokes emotion, captures personality, and gives a unique perspective.

As the daughter of a photographer, I was fascinated early on with the possibilities such a small piece of equipment could hold. I often daydreamed that my eyes were a camera lens, capturing people and places in their truest sense without them ever knowing.

Today, this is still true. Whether a wedding, portrait, landscape or promotional piece, I seek images that move people, those that capture the essence of what I am photographing. I always try to find new ways of seeing a scene differently.

My style of photography draws upon my experience as both a newspaper photojournalist and a portrait photographer. My wedding work has been refered to as "artistic", "photojournalistic" and "candid".  My presence is friendly and unobtrusive, as I believe in letting the day unfold naturally and capturing special moments discreetly whenever possible. I prefer to document the events of the day in a "hands-off" manner, rather than posing people or orchestrating shots, as I believe people are their most beautiful and interesting when they are completely comfortable and able to be themselves.

Unlike many photographers, I take on only a limited number of photography clients each year to ensure that each one is truly special. This allows me more time to become acquainted with my clients, understand their needs, and come away with a sense of their personality. My approach allows me to give my clients my full and undivided attention, thereby creating photos that reflect their personality in a way that is unique to them.

I have been extremely fortunate to have received national recognition for my work including honors, awards, media attention, gallery showings, private commissions, and being published in newspapers, magazines and a book. I couldn’t have done it without my wonderful clients, all of whom remain a source of joy and creativity to me each day.
