Hello, and welcome to Ra-Mu and the Crew, Professional Entertainment Services. We have been in the business for over ten years and have performed at every event imaginable. What sets us apart is our commitment to excellence, and a personal approach. Do not be fooled by those other DJ companies who send the next available guy. Our entertainers are professional, experienced and interactive. Our equipment is state of the art, and our entertainers will keep the party going all night long. So sit back, relax, and enjoy the remainder of your visit with Ra-Mu and the Crew.
Ra-Mu, now at age 31, graduated from Boston College in the spring of 1998 with a degree in Marketing. As an undergraduate, Ra-Mu worked as a stand-up comedian and a DJ all over New England and New York. During Ra-Mu’s stint as a stand-up comedian, he had opened up for the likes of Damon Wayans, David Alan Grier, Bill Bellamy, and D.L. Hughley.
In 1996, Ra-Mu founded Ra-Mu & The Crew™ with some of his peers. Together, they were able to appeal to a wide audience and book over 250 ’gigs’ that first year and have never looked back.
Today, Ra-Mu focuses his attention on being an MC/DJ and networking with other entertainers. With over 1,000 weddings and bar mitzvahs under his belt, Ra-Mu brings vast experience and a great attitude to every show that he performs. As a true professional, Ra-Mu works at least four nights a week honing his craft while working in the office at least five days a weeks to handle administrative duties.
That’s not all! Within the years following Ra-Mu and the Crew’s™ inception, the business has grown exponentially to become New England’s best in professional entertainment services. Offering disc jockey and MC services, comedy, videography, and photography (to mention only a portion of our services), Ra-Mu and the Crew™ continues to provide its customers with outstanding, and unmatchable service.
If you’re looking for nothing but the best, Ra-Mu and the Crew™ is the one for you. We look forward to your call!
One of New England's finest DJ / VJ's today. With over 500 weddings and barmitzvahs under his belt, Ra-Mu brings vast experience and a great attitude to every show that he performs. As a true professional, Ra-Mu works at least four nights a week honing his craft while working in the office at least five days a weeks to handle administrative duties. Ra-Mu is a true joy to watch, and a very polished entertainer.
I've worked with some of the best in the business, but Ra-Mu is at the very top of my list of outstanding professionals. There are some people out there who do a great job, but there are those who bring a certain humanity and caring to the profession that pushes them over the top. Ra-Mu is such a person and professional. If you're in need of a DJ, you cannot go wrong when you hire Ra-Mu.
Best,
Terri Altergott

Frequently Asked Questions for DJ
What is your usual attire?
A classic black tuxedo is standard for most traditional weddings. During the hot summer months, if the wedding takes place outside, many brides prefer to have the DJ wear a vest instead of a jacket. Ultimately the decision is up to you.
If you do not have one of the songs pre-requested by the client, do you require that they provide it?
We will always have the pre-requested songs.
Is the client able to meet the DJ before booking?
I require at least two meetings to go over all the special details for the day to go smoothly.
Do you bring your own equipment?
Yes. We only use top of the line equipment , i.e., Bose, JBL , and Mackie speakers. Presentation is very important to us and should be to you. There is nothing worse than having equipment that looks like it was used at a college keg party the night before. Our equipment has a clean, professional look along with concert quality sound. Our equipment is compact and portable allowing us to provide you with music in multiple reception areas. (Your cocktail hour may be outside and your dining area may be inside or across the hallway) Lastly, lighting is available upon request. You may desire a disco ball effect or a club lighting effect to add ambience during the dancing portion of the evening.
Additional Questions and Answers
Why should we use Ra-Mu and the Crew as our reception Entertainment? When its comes to music, Ra-Mu and the Crew disc jockeys have their PHD’s . Music is something that we take seriously and prepare for. We realize that no two functions are ever alike and we do our research in order to provide the best service. Any DJ can play the cliché wedding hits that we have heard over and over again, however, it takes a true professional to read the crowd, play what is appropriate, and adhere to the newlyweds playlist. Our mission is to entertain your guests but also to follow your instructions. We want you to paint a musical picture of your ideal reception. Our job will be to keep the dance floor packed all night long!!! How much will your services cost?
There is a perceived value in the price of entertainment. Nobody wants a DJ that is ridiculously cheap. We all have a cousin or an uncle that could provide entertainment but why take the chance on your wedding day. The last thing a bride needs is Uncle Johnny breaking out his 8-Track collection. Save those antics for the family barbecue!!!
The flipside to this argument : Why spend an exorbitant fee for a DJ service and the next available guy shows up. We’ve all heard stories about the hotshot DJ company that hides behind a façade of advertising and then sends a rookie to your wedding. Your reception should not be grounds for a DJ internship. You want a trained professional that has at least 1,000 weddings under his belt. Ra-Mu and the Crew provides experience and hi-end service at reasonable costs. We want you to enjoy your reception but still have money left over for the honeymoon.
