EXPERIENCED MUSICIANS: Ptarmigan’s musicians perform as a STRING QUARTET, a STRING TRIO, a STRING DUO, and a CELLO QUARTET or DUO. For a COOL UPBEAT SOUND, Ptarmigan can include their jazz/rock DRUMMER for your COCKTAIL HOUR or PARTY!  Ptarmigan’s musicians have had many years of formal musical training and experience. Ptarmigan has been performing together professionally for over fourteen years! Members of the quartet have been playing their instruments and performing in chamber ensembles and symphony orchestras for many, many years. Ptarmigan’s musicians are currently members of the Niwot Timberline Symphony (NTS) of Boulder County, where Ptarmigan’s First Violinist, Lynne Andrade, is the Assistant Concertmaster. Ms. Andrade also teaches Violin at Musiqus Violin Studio, her private studio in Berthoud. Ptarmigan’s Violist, Marilyn de Queiroz, is the Principal Violist of the NTS. Ptarmigan’s musicians have also performed with the Boulder Philharmonic, Jefferson Symphony, Longmont Symphony, Ft. Collins Symphony, Loveland Chamber Orchestra, Mahlerfest Orchestra, Richmond Symphony, Plainfield Symphony, and Ohio Jewish Center Community Orchestra.

WEDDING SPECIALISTS: Ptarmigan String Quartet has performed music for hundreds of weddings at numerous venues throughout the Front Range and the Mountains of Colorado. Ptarmigan also performs as a String Trio (2 violins and cello or violin, viola, and cello) and as a String Duo (violin and cello).

LOTS OF MUSIC SELECTIONS: Ptarmigan’s eclectic collection of music is extensive and includes many genres of music for any kind of special event you are having -- including CORPORATE events, HOLIDAY events, and other Special Celebrations! See the Music List on their Web Site for examples.

SPECIAL REQUESTS: Special requests are welcome. If your favorite song is not already in their huge collection, they will try their best to find it or make an arrangement just for you! Given enough lead time, Ptarmigan performs special requests, accompanies your soloist, and can add another instrument if music is available. YOUR SATISFACTION IS PTARMIGAN’S NUMBER ONE PRIORITY!

We have certainly enjoyed Ptarmigan String Quartet when they have performed at the Castle!

Can you play Special Requests?  If so, do you charge extra?       
Yes, we can play Special Requests.  However, if the music is not already in our large collection, and we have to make an arrangement, there may be a small charge ($20).  We do need at least 60 days prior notice for Special Requests.

Will you attend my Wedding Rehearsal? 
Yes, if there are no scheduling conflicts, one or our musicians will attend your rehearsal.  Even though we will be thoroghly
rehearsed and ready to go, we believe that perfectly timed music makes your wedding more beautiful.   Our attendance at
your rehearsal helps assure that our music will be perfectly synchronized with each special part of your ceremony -- from
your Processionals to your Recessional.  Nothing can take the place of observing your practice processionals at your unique wedding venue.

Colorado Weddings are beautiful!   If you are having an outdoor wedding, be sure to also have an Indoor location at the venue for your Plan B.  Colorado weather is unpredictable, especially in the mountains.

Select your string quartet as soon as you can to make sure you get an experienced, reliable, and talented quartet.  The longer someone has been in business the more reliable they tend to be.  We have been performing for weddings for over a decade and pride ourselves with providing excellent customer service, great advice on wedding music and wedding ceremonies, and a huge variety of music for weddings and receptions!
