I hired Shelley as a day of coordinator a few months before my wedding. I was planning my wedding in DC from the west coast, so even though I should have hired her for full on planning, I decided I could do it all myself. Leave it to me as a last minute procrastinator, I was still trying to nail down one of my vendors a month before, but Shelley was so supportive and nice about it, didn’t pressure me and even interviewed the vendor herself to give me a second opinion. She was always available to me via phone/email, which was great being 3000 miles away. She ran rehearsal without a hitch and then the day of, I never had to leave my suite until it was time to go down for the ceremony. She came up to check on me, but other than that, she took care of all the details. Bottom line, I WAS ABLE TO ENJOY THE DAY! I consider myself detail-oriented and a bit of a control freak, I have done event planning for work – so at times I would ask her during the reception, ok what’s next on the timeline! because I was not the one with the clipboard running everything.

I interviewed a few other planners and I can tell you that I picked Shelley because of the first impression she made on me – she seemed energetic, passionate, organized, realistic and super nice – just someone I would want to work with. And of course it was all true the more I got to know and work with her. I was lucky to have her on my wedding day!
