The Portage Bridal Association was founded in the early 1980s by several Portage Michigan merchants who were interested in offering a one stop shopping event for brides and grooms. They produced an annual Bridal Fair with a formal fashion show which was well received by the community.

Now, Portage Bridal has developed into one of the largest wedding association in the state and has expanded its offerings to the "to be weds" which allows for more selections in each product or service offered.
