Do you offer special techniques such as hand-coloring or toning?
Photography by Verdi offers all types of techniques, such as sepia, hand-coloring, grain effects.
Do you have experience shooting in various lighting situations?
We have experience in all lighting conditions, but prefer shooting in natural light.
Is your media preference film or digital?
Photography by Verdi has been shooting all digital for about 5 years.
How many photographers do you work with?
Photography by Verdi gives each couple the experience of working with both Mindi and Rich at their event.
Do you guarantee your presence at the actual event?
Yes, as owners, we are the only ones who will come and shoot at your event. We pride ourselves on not having other shooters show up at your affair.
Do you sometimes book yourself for more than one event in a day? Weekend?
Both Mindi and Rich only book one affair, yours, for a specific day.
Do you have a replacement photographer in case you become unavailable on the day of the event?
Yes, if the need should arise, such as in a hospital event or some other emergency, Photography by Verdi would work with the couple in either providing them with a refund if their affair was way in the future, or of supplying them with someone who we feel is up to our caliber and style of shooting.
What kind of equipment do you typically bring with you on the day-of?
We shoot with Canon cameras and lens and provide 3 sets of everything as back up for an event.
Do you bring back-up equipment to the event in case of malfunction?
We always have our back up equipment within easy reach in case of such an emergency as a camera or lens going down.
Do you charge hourly or full day?
Photography by Verdi includes in their base pay, eight (8) hours of coverage, which is usually sufficient, unless a couple has a big lapse between their ceremony and reception or in the case of a lot of travel to and from the different aspects of their day.
Are you available to shoot extra hours? If yes, how much do you charge for extra hours?
If a couple does have such a lapse in time, we can be hired for an overtime fee of $150 an hour or part thereof.
What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal?
We only take one break throughout the day, and that is when you and your guests are being served their dinner, as well as, ourselves, which we ask to coincide with your mealtime.
Do you charge for travel?
Photography by Verdi does charge for travel outside the limits of Long Island, such as Queens, Brooklyn, New York City, Connecticut, New Jersey and our Destination Weddings.
How soon after the event are the proofs ready for viewing?
If a couple opts to do our online coverage which puts approximately 675 of their images on our site, that is usually done within the first 7 days after their event. The actual proofbook, is ready for them two weeks following their affair.
In what format are the initial proofs offered?
We offer our clients a proofbook filled with approximately 1,200 printed proofs. The cover of the album has a photo on it as well as, the couple's names.
How long can the client keep the proofs?
The proofbook is part of each and every couple's package.
Do you retain the copyright for the photos?
The copyright is available for purchase.
Do you reserve the right to publish the photos?
Yes, with permission from the couple.
Do you provide the digital files and/or negatives (or copies of the negatives) to the client?
We do provide the high resolution dvd's to the couple following the completion of their album for a fee.
Will images be available for viewing online?
As stated above, we do offer an online gallery of approximately 675 of their photos on our website usually within one week of their affair. This online gallery stays up on our site for approximately a year, although maybe longer.
What kind of albums do you offer?
We offer albums from Leather Craftsmen and White Glove. We offer styles of both traditional matted albums, flush style, coffee book styles and magazine layout albums.
When will the client get the final album?
Finaly albums usually arrive approximately 8-12 weeks from the time we receive your final picture counts.
