What primary photographic style do you identify with?
Contemporary
What do your packages include?
Albums, Digital Files, Flush Mount, High Resolution Images, Matted Prints, Prints, Proof CD of All Images, Thank You Cards, Video Montage
Do you have liability insurance?
Yes
Do you offer special techniques such as hand-coloring or toning?
Multiple lighting, natural lighting, some hand coloring of images per customer request and of course my favorite, dense contrasty black and whites! There's something timeless about a black and white image!
Do you have experience shooting in various lighting situations?
We have photographed weddings in almost every possible lighting scenario from candlelight, rainy, night, and the most flattering of all light in my opinion, overcast.
Is your media preference film or digital?
We exclusively use digital cameras now; Canon to be specific.
How many photographers do you work with?
One photographer and one assistant will be assigned to each wedding.
Do you guarantee your presence at the actual event?
Absolutely. If the bride books with me she gets me and my wife. We have another wonderful husband/wife team who shoot for us - Jeannine and Brian Frest. We generally have the bride and groom meet and book with the photographer who will be covering their wedding.
Do you sometimes book yourself for more than one event in a day? Weekend?
A wedding can be mental and physical marathon for the both the photographer and the bride and groom. I cannot imagine doing more than one wedding per day; would just be too much. I want to devote all my mental and physical resources to one bride only on any given day.
Do you have a replacement photographer in case you become unavailable on the day of the event?
In my mind there is no such thing as becoming un-available on the wedding day. The only excuse would be my untimely death (God forbid). We do, however, belong to a wonderful community of like-minded photographers with similar styles who would jump at the opportunity to help this fellow colleague/photographer in case of emergency. I am proud to be associated with some of the best photographers in the country in my opinion.
What kind of equipment do you typically bring with you on the day-of?
Multiple camera bodies, an assortment of very fast and long focal length lenses and some of the best flash systems and light modifiers around. Oh, and plenty of batteries! Should the batteries die, we simply plug in.
Do you bring back-up equipment to the event in case of malfunction?
Yes...absolutely. I would not think of covering a wedding day without ample backup equipment.
Do you charge hourly or full day?
Our wedding day collections offer a number of hours; depends of the package the bride and groom choose. I might also mention that we are very flexible and would never leave a bride hanging on her wedding day for any reason.
Are you available to shoot extra hours? If yes, how much do you charge for extra hours?
Should the need arise, and according to our contract, we charge $150 per hour for the two photographers. Two photographers times 1 hour equals $150. And like all things.. this is negotiable. I am very fair.
What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal?
None. If we're lucky enough to have a good drive from the church to the reception, this is considered our break.
Do you charge for travel?
If we are hired to cover a destination wedding, travel and expenses are negotiated in the package.
How soon after the event are the proofs ready for viewing?
Typically one to two weeks. However, we update our blog every Monday so you will likely see a few pics and a slideshow a couple days after the wedding.
In what format are the initial proofs offered?
We partner with Pictage, so the initial proofs are posted on a secure website for the folks to view. Started in 2009, the bride and groom will also receive a lo-res image disc to fuel the need for Facebook, MySpace, email, etc..
Some of our package also include a number of paper 4x6 "First Edition Prints".
How long can the client keep the proofs?
"First Edition Prints" are yours to keep forever.
Do you retain the copyright for the photos?
I do retain copyrights of the photos for 1 year following the wedding at which time the digital images are either for sale or sent to the bride and groom if included in the package.
Do you reserve the right to publish the photos?
Yes. We are very proud of our work and want to show the world!
Do you provide the digital files and/or negatives (or copies of the negatives) to the client?
See comments above...
Will images be available for viewing online?
YES!
What kind of albums do you offer?
Flush mount collage style and traditional matted albums all bound in premium leather. We also offer smaller coffee table books which can be purchased in the event Pictage website.
When will the client get the final album?
Once the design is approved by the bride and groom, 6-8 weeks for delivery of the finished album during non holiday times.
