About
My name is Andy Owen, and I'm a wedding videographer from Okemos, MI.  I love what I do.  I love to feel like I'm doing something worthwhile for my clients, so after a few years of working in corporate video I made the switch to weddings. The opportunity to be a part of helping people remember their big day (when most of them remember it as quite a blur) is truly an honor for me.

I used to be the Media Director for a large church, before my wife and I decided to move back to where her family lives, and then was the Multimedia Producer for a small production house.  After that I taught students how to produce videos at the Western School District in Jackson County where I was the Video Studio Director and Multimedia Support Technician.

If you'd like to procure my services for your big day, please feel free to call me at 517-819-7953 or e-mail me at OwenVideo@gmail.com.  To see a sample of my work please visit my website at www.owenvideo.com.  Let's get together, have a cup of coffee, and talk about your day!

Thanks for taking the time to read this, I hope to hear from you soon!

(And congratulations on your upcoming wedding!)

Frequently Asked Questions for Videography
What primary style do you identify with?
Cinematic, Documentary

What do your packages include?
Ceremony, Edited Video, Montage - Wedding Highlights, Multiple Videographers, Multple Cameras, Online Highlight Films, Pre-Ceremony, Reception

What formats can the final video be in?
Blu-Ray, DVD

Do you have liability insurance?
No

Are you a commercial studio or a home-based business?
This is my home-based business. I'm a stay-at-home Dad so working away from home one day on the weekend and editing the footage at home during my free-time works wonderfully for me and my family.

Do you have lighting equipment to accommodate a more dimly-lit event?
Yes

How many videographers do you work with?
I now offer a second package with the availability to have a second shooter, which I highly recommend. However, if you do not go that route, it is just me.

Does the client get to meet the videographers before the event?
I always try to meet with the bride (and groom if available) before signing any contracts. If it's not easily manageable most of what we need to work out can be done over the phone and through mail (electronic and otherwise). And if you higher my second shooter to accompany, I will try to accommodate their schedule as well so you'll have the chance to meet us both.

Do you guarantee your presence at the actual event?
99.9%, but again, if something happens to me such as serious illness or a family emergency I will reserve a back-up videographer to fill-in at the last minute. If that happens then I will still edit the project, however in such a scenario you are also welcome to find a back-up on your own, though my goal is to meet your videography needs, no matter what that takes.

Do you book yourself for more than one event in a day? Weekend?
Not on the same day but I have worked twice in a weekend so long as their are no conflicts.

Do you have a replacement videographer in case you become unavailable on the event day?
I do.

What kind of equipment do you typically bring with you on the day-of?
Two HD CMOS Canon Vixia HV-40 Video Cameras, two shotgun microphones, two tripods, one homemade steadycam, a secret weapon for truly smooth shots, DC power cables & extension cords when needed during ceremonies, lots of tapes, and extra batteries.

Do you bring backup equipment to the event in case of malfunction?
Batteries and tapes, but I only have the two cameras. I test everything in advance in the hopes that if I need to procure a back-up, I will have time to retrieve it from a friend who allows me to borrow his equipment, but I do not own a third camera myself.

What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal?
I do request a meal if your guests are eating at the reception, however, I won't be sitting to eat for long. If the bride & groom are on the move, so am I.

Do you charge overtime?
No. It's your wedding DAY, not your wedding hours...I'm yours for the entirety of it.

Do you give access to your raw footage?
No.

Do you reserve the right to use the video in the future for promotions, contents, etc.?
Yes. (Mostly the trailer)

Is the client involved in the editing process? If so, how much input does the client have in editing?
No. Special requests may be made in advance and I will attempt to adhere to them if they are reasonable, but I reserve final edit rights.

How long does it take for the client to get the final video?
6-8 weeks
