We do not provide cookie-cutter weddings. Each reception is different and very specific to each customer. Our style is defined by high energy and customer satisfaction a priority. Our customers ultimately call the shots.
What is your usual attire?
The customer chooses the DJ's attire.
If you do not have one of the songs pre-requested by the client, do you require that they provide it?
No. We provide all the music for your reception.
How many other DJs do you work with?
All DJs are employees and all systems are in house. We do not work with other DJ companies or outsource.
What is the minimum amount of time you will DJ for?
Our minimum for a wedding reception is 5 hours.
Is the client able to meet the DJ before booking?
Yes. At Music By Design, you will meet your DJ at your initial consultation.
Do you bring your own equipment?
Yes. All equipment is in house and we provide everything.
What (if any) special equipment, such as disco balls or lighting, is offered with your service?
Yes. We have several options including "name in lights" and "advanced lighting".
How much time do you usually need to set up? Do you require that the site or client provide a table for you to set up on?
Our set-up time takes about 20 minutes and we do require that the site provide a table.
Do you have any extra space requirements?
No. We have very compact system.
Do you usually emcee the event or talk between songs?
Yes. However, we are not overbearing on the microphone. We emcee in a professional manner.
What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal?
No thank you. You are not required to purchase a meal for your DJ.
Will you arrange for recorded music to play during your breaks?
We do not take breaks.
What is your backup plan in case you become unavailable on the day of the event?
Yes. We have backup systems and DJs.
What is your overtime rate?
$50 for an extra hour.
Do you charge for travel expenses? If yes, how much do you charge?
No. Drive time and set-up is free.
