About
Professional makeup artist available for your wedding, or special event! Never sit at a makeup counter again.  I will come to you, where you are, on your special day.

Bridal makeup is very specific. You want to look beautiful in person as well as in your pictures. Your special day is most likely one of THE most special days of your life. Looking, and feeling good is of the utmost importance to me. That’s why, I believe in keeping your makeup clean, natural, and super pretty! I am well aware of what a bride goes through in the week’s before her wedding. I try to make the makeup process as easy as possible---you have enough to be concerned with! You can be 100% assured that your makeup will stay put well into the night! I use a product that has been featured on EXTRA, TYRA BANKS, and OPRAH. This product ensures your makeup to last, and is safe for even the most sensitive skins!

Usually, any special event or wedding means that many photographs will be taken. Aside from the fact that you will want to look your very best for the entire evening in person, the lasting photos will be part of your life forever. Professional photogenic makeup is different from your regular makeup. Additionally, special highlighting, contouring, bringing out your best features, and lighting are just some of the issues I can address to ensure that you look your loveliest.

I will arrive early ready to make your big day special. I try to arrange the schedule to ensure the makeup will be at it's freshest right before the pictures and the big walk down the aisle—after all, these are memories that will last a lifetime.

As soon as you are aware you would like to schedule a consultation, please contact me right away, as many brides do book 6-12 months in advance.

Melissa Roshan is a pleasure to work with. I have seen how happy she can make a bride, not to mention how beautiful! I would recommend Melissa to family and friends!
We have worked with Melissa at weddings as well as fashion photo shoots and she always does an amazing job. She makes the brides/models look glamorous without looking over done. She is also professional and a pleasure to work with. Our brides always love her.
Hi MelissaRoshan, I wanted to take the time to thank you for the amazing job you did for Lekshmi and her sister on her wedding day. I know Lekshmi was a bride that does not wear make-up on a regular basis and she was so concerned with her look. I have to say I have never seen her look more beautiful- her make up was amazing and you created a wonderful look for her that she was thrilled with. Thanks for the extra time you put in, and the care you give to my brides. Coming back later in the day to create a second look for her change of clothes at the reception was truely appreciated as well. Your the best! Jamie Devoted to Details

Additional Questions and Answers

Do I need to book more than just myself on my wedding day? The answer is no.. You can have me all to yourself, (smile) or I can do 15 bride's maids..

Do you require a deposit? A fifty dollar non-refundable deposit is due to secure your wedding date. This deposit is due no later than three day's after your consultation. This deposit shall be deducted from your fee on the day of your wedding.

Is your last name Roshan?
No my entire first name is MelissaRoshan

Can you do my hair? I noticed you said you do light styling.. I can make certain that your style that was done at the salon stay's perfect.. Your dress fit's properly, no deoderant mark's, etc.. This is light styling.. I styled the model's hair for photoshoot purposes, but recommend you have a professional do your hair...

What if I am unhappy with my makeup, and or bridal party? On the rare instance a bride, or bridal party is unhappy with her makeup, I will gladly re-do her makeup at no extra charge.

How much time should I expect to allot for my makeup? Generally, for bridal makeup you should expect to sit with me for no more than 30 minutes. Without a consultation, 45 minutes. For your bridal party, service time is usually 15 minutes (per person.)

What happens if I have an extra person who would like a makeover at the last minute? This will often happen. A family member who thought that she did not need or want the makeover at first, will see the incredible way that the others look and she will want to look that great as well. Should this situation occur, I would make every effort to accommodate the request provided that the time does not interfere with the bride's schedule or with another client's event.

What about tipping? There are no fees (except in rare situations) for travel. Tip as you would in any salon when you are thrilled with the outcome.

How long will my makeup last? Your makeup will last for several hours, however, the exact amount of time depends on several factors. For example, a sobbing mother will not look as fresh as her dry-eyed sister, of course. (smile)In general, your professional makeover last from the first photo to the last dance. With my state-of-the-art special application techniques, the makeup will have wonderful and lasting staying power. The only products necessary for touch ups after 3-4 hours will be lip gloss and powder.

When should I schedule my consultation? You will want to schedule your consult 1-2 months in advance. Additionally, scheduling your appointment when you have your bridal veil is best. During the consultation I will discuss the time frame for each person getting makeup, and set up a schedule so things will flow smoothly on the big day. Afterwards, plan to socialize with friends and family or schedule a wedding dress fitting, because you will look gorgeous.

I suggest that my brides bring pictures and magazines with looks they admire so we can work as a team. I can also offer advice if needed on pre-wedding eyebrow tweezing, facials, manicures and pedicures as well organizing/ordering lip colors, etc. for your wedding touch-up purse.

What products do you use? I try to use only the best products, every fine cosmetics line you can think of. I will bring everything to you! The most highly allergic skin has no problem with the products, but if you prefer to use your own products, that will be fine also.

In fact, having a portable pressed powder always comes in handy later on in the night, to keep shine at bay. I do not currently do airbrush makeup. While it is very pretty, I am a artist that likes to take the traditional approach when painting my canvases.

Your wedding day smile

http://img2.timeinc.net/health/images/poked-and-prodded/white-teeth-smile-200.jpg

Ten years from now your wedding will be a beautiful memory for you and your partner. The primary way for you to remember it all will be your treasured photos and video recordings.

Make sure your smile and your partners smile are both radiant on the day. You don’t want to look back and think….“After all that money I spent on my dress, my hairstylist, my makeup, the photographer…I really should have done something about my teeth”.

To get you started, I have a few recommendations that will work for you! First thing's first, and that is-- you guessed it, brushing! Purchase an electronic toothbrush. It doesn’t need to be an expensive one – the $20 ones from the supermarket do a great job. Electronic toothbrushes are proven to clean better than hand held manual brushes, removing more tartar and helping the overall health of your mouth and teeth.

Use Listerine Whitening Mouthwash or something similar to kill any harmful bacteria, which will give you fresher breath and healthier teeth and gums. Avoid coffees, teas, berries, or tobbacco. These foods, and beverages can wreak havoc on our smiles!

A dazzling white smile is extremely important for your special day. It enhances your makeup, makes you appear more youthful and radiant and looks great in photos!

Purchase an effective Professional Teeth Whitening System, or even make an appointment for professional teeth whitening. White Science of Ohio, can help you get your pearly whites back for less: www.whitescienceofohio.com.

If you decide to do the system at home, choose a system that has customized mouthguards that can take a proper impression of the teeth (not sports mouthguards). Holding the whitening gel against the teeth for a full half hour is most important in getting an EVEN whitening and a long lasting result. Make sure the active ingredient is Hydrogen Peroxide at least 7.5% to 9.5%. Hydrogen Peroxide is 3 times stronger than Carbamide Peroxide and works 3 times faster (you don’t have to wear it to bed). You’ll need to perform the treatment 3 weeks before your wedding and then for half an hour on the day of your wedding (to make em really white!)

I personally use SuperSmile, about every eighteen months:

How to make your day even more memorable!

One suggestion I always give my brides, are to choose a wedding day fragrance you have never worn before. The reason being, is that every time you wear the fragrance any time thereafter, you will always be reminded of your special day, as will your husband! I personally wore, Donna Karen Cashmere Mist, and now I bring it out for date nights, or special occasions.

Weddings are not just a celebration of love, but a memorable experience that involves friends, family--and yes--fragrance. According to experts, a wedding day should be carefully organized to be unforgettable, since fragrance, relationships and memories are closely intertwined.

Your wedding-day perfume will always trigger special memories, so choose it carefully. When shopping, you can better describe what you're looking for if you know a few pros' terms. Experts divide scents into six families: chypre (sheep-ra, French for Cyprus), fougere (foo-zhair, or fern), citrus, green, floral, and oriental. For a wedding in the mountains, you might try a woodsy chypre. A country gathering may call for a fresh citrus. Light floral and green scents are nice in spring and summer, and spicy oriental and musky fougere in fall or winter. Talk to your florist about incorporating notes of your scent into your bouquet.
Choosing a Wedding-Day Fragrance

I just can't live without my:

Photobucket
English Ideas Lip Enhance. If you have small lips, just draw a line a pinch outside your lip line. I have a full lip, so I just fill in my lips with it. Don't worry, it looks very natural. If you fill in your lips with this, it will give your lipstick color, or gloss something to adhere to. You can find the English Ideas line at Sephora.
Photobucket
Victorias Secret Beauty Rush Gloss. Not only do these glosses taste yummy, but they smell great too. For me, I love to wear "Piece of Cake" by itself. For a summer day, I love wearing "Apricot", or "Chocolate". These are also great over lipcolors.
Photobucket
I just love Vera Bradley purses/luggage. The bags are high end purses for the "down to earth" kind of girl.
Photobucket
After photoshoots, or about twice a month, I steam my face with tea tree oil in a pot. Once my pores are open, I exfoliate, and apply this Clarins purifying plant mask. This stuff works! It pulls out blackheads, and it contains plant extracts---so even the most sensitive skin would be fine to use this. It keeps my skin squeaky clean, and healthy.
Photobucket
ION gloss drops. This is great on thick hair, curly hair, long hair, coarse hair, or perfect for a flat iron, or blow out. You just use a dime size of the product, at it goes a long way. It makes my hair so soft, shiny, and moisturized without a greasy feeling of course. You can find this product at Sally Beauty Supply stores.
Photobucket
I can't say enough about the ION Effective Care Deep Conditioning mask. With all the harmful agents in the environment, it can be so harsh on your hair. I leave this on overnight. It removes all the "gook" from your hair, and helps to repair split ends, dryness, etc. I use this once a month.
Photobucket
Shiseido Benefiance Eye Mask. Heck, I'm not on commission. This product is a pinch expensive, but it is amazing. They are little eye mask that you wear after cleansing your skin. Wear them for about one hour, once a week. It removes dark circles, puffiness, and leaves the delicate eye area intensley moisturized. Even the oiliest of skins can benefit from this product. You can find this product at your higher end department stores.
Photobucket
My skin gets drier in the winter. I love my Shiseido Benefiance moisturizing cream. I use it after cleansing, and under my makeup.
Photobucket
When the weather is not freezing, I love to use my Clarins Mult-Active Day Cream. You definatley should have a mosturizer specifically for cold weather, and for warm weather. Don't forget your sunblock!
Photobucket
Smiths Rosebud Salve has been around since the early 1900's. There's a reason. This is an amazing salve for dry areas. Many celeb's use this as a lip moisturizer. I love it!
Photobucket
Fekkai products are amazing. I keep this glossing cream for hair on hand in my makeup case, and also at home. Great for fly away pieces.
Photobucket
My secret is out now. This Sparkle eyedust by N.Y.C. cosmetics, is affordable (3.99) and available at most local drugstores. It comes in many different shades, and is a gorgeous subtle shimmer for the eyes. I wear this with two coats of mascara for a quick, clean look.
Photobucket
Aveeno Cleansing Pads have cucumber base, and really get's down to the nitty, gritty for my skin.
Photobucket
I love this Clarins Tinted Moisturizer. It's a lightweigt moisturizer, that is the same color as my skin. So, not only is it hydrating, protecting (because of the SPF), but it gives me great coverage.
Photobucket
I love this mascara by Maybelline. It separates my lashes, without making them look like spider legs (ick). This affordable mascara lengthens, thickens, and gives me gorgeous natural eyelashes.
Photobucket
Your brows frame your face. So having an impeccable brow, for me is a must. I love my Shiseido brow pencil. I use it for a more dramatic brow, or just to enhance my look. It will not rub off, and it conditions your brow .
