Frequently Asked Questions
What primary style, such as traditional or documentary, do you identify with?
We believe that your wedding video should be timeless and stand the test of time. And as such our style is Cinema Journalistic. Which means that I take a Journalistic (realtime video with little slow motion, straight cuts and a few dissolves, and real audio from your day) approach to your video with a Cinematic flair. We will never use any canned special effects, like spinning titles or corny animations.
Are you a commercial studio or home-based business?
We are a home based business, but we are incorporated and licensed with the sate of Maryland and fully insured.
Do you have lighting equipment to accommodate a more dimly-lit event?
In order to get the best color and picture possible in dim environments, we use dimmable on camera lighting. And in some instances may use discrete remote controlled low output (self powered, no power cables needed) of camera lighting to get the best picture possible when in dimly lit situations. We only use supplemental light for your reception and never use lighting for your ceremony.
Does the bride get to meet the videographers before the wedding?
I am the vidoegrapher as well as editor. I prefer to meet with all potential clients, to make sure that I am the right fit both professionally and personally for their event.
How many videographers do you work with?
Depending on the package, we provide either 1 or 2 camera operators at a given event.
Do you guarantee your presence at the actual event?
Yes. Unless I am unable to attend your event, due to an emergency, I will always be at your event. In case of emergency, I have professional backup shooters available to shoot your event.
Do you book yourself for more than one wedding in a day? Weekend?
We will never double book an event. My attention is solely on you the week of your event. This way I know that there will be no conflicts in my schedule and I can focus my attention on you.
Do you have a replacement videographer in case you become unavailable on the wedding day?
I belong to local professional video associations, so in case of an emergency, I have professional backup shooters available to shoot your event.
What kind of equipment do you typically bring with you on the day-of?
On a given shoot we will arrive with 2-3 cameras (1 for backup), as well as a multitude of audio equipment and camera support.
Do you bring back-up equipment to the event in case of malfunction?
We always have backup equipment on hand for both video as well as audio.
How many breaks do you usually take throughout the day?
Since it's not flattering to film people eating, the only break that we will take during the day is during the meal. This way we can eat ourselves and recharge our batteries and rock and roll for the remainder of the day.
Do you reserve the right to use a video in the future for promotions, contests, etc.?
The only way that we can show the quality of our work to potential clients like yourself, is to use footage from our events for our promotions. So, LVProductions does reserve the right to use footage in our promotions. Of course if there is reason, then this is negotiable.
Is the bride involved in the editing process? If so, how much input does the bride have in editing?
We have a certain style that is shown to our brides beforehand in or full wedding demos. As such all editing is done at the discretion of LVProductions. We of course have the brides input before the event, in order to make sure that we are all on the same page and that we capture all of the important and impromptu events of the day.

Additional Questions and Answers
Why should I have my wedding day professionally videotaped?
On your wedding day, there are no second takes.  A wedding is full of sights, sounds and motion than can’t be captured in a photograph.  After all of the work that you have put into planning the day of your life, let us work to provide you with a perfect memory of that day.

Will you be attending the rehearsal?

I feel it is very important to attend the rehearsal.  When at your rehearsal I am able to see how the ceremony will proceed, so I can plan my audio and video shots accordingly, and avoid such problems as having an attendant block my view of the couple during the vows.

I have watched some videos where the sound was very poor and I wasn’t able to hear what was being said.  Will I be able to hear my vows?
Audio is maybe even more important than video.  When you watch a movie, 60% of what you actually see is heard. We take great effort to ensure that you get fantastic audio. You can be assured, that by employing wireless audio and top of the line audio recorders, your video will have outstanding audio clarity.
