About
LV Sound is a professional disc jockey service in business since 1988 at very reasonable rates. We provide entertainment including DJ's, light shows, giant video screens, and karaoke for Northeast Ohio events. Please call us or visit our website for more information. Our new multimedia, dj services include us taking pictures of you and your guests at your wedding and immediately presenting the pictures in a slide show format throughout the duration of the event. When the night has concluded, we will burn these pictures onto a CD for you to keep. Our multimedia screens also feature a shout out ticker that runs at the bottom of the screen where your guests can type in text style "shout out" messages, no cell phone is required.

Frequently Asked Questions for DJ
Describe your DJ style:
Our DJ style is to be professional and fun, without going over the edge into the "cheesy" behavior that people can't stand. The show is focused on you, not us!

What is your usual attire?
Shirt/Tie. Tuxedo if requested. We do not try and outdress the wedding party, as the focus should be on them.

If you do not have one of the songs pre-requested by the client, do you require that they provide it?
No, we can download nearly any song as long as it's available on the internet. If the song is not not available, we will look at all available resources including retail purchase, borrowing from a library, or borrowing from another DJ that we have a relationship with.

How many other DJs do you work with?
Currently our staff consists of 4 lead DJ's and 4 assistant DJ's.

What is the minimum amount of time you will DJ for?
Most of our packages are priced for 5 hours, but we are flexible based on the client needs.

Is the client able to meet the DJ before booking?
Yes, as long as we can meet in the greater Akron or Cleveland area at a time and place that is mutually agreeable to everyone.

Do you specialize in any ethnic or international events?
We can customize the music to any ethnic nationality and also work alongside any musicians that you hire in addition to us.

Do you bring your own equipment?
We own all of our equipment and have been in business since 1988.

What (if any) special equipment, such as disco balls or lighting, is offered with your service?
We offer light shows, satellite sound systems, wireless mics, video screens, and karaoke.

How much time do you usually need to set up? Do you require that the site or client provide a table for you to set up on?
Most setups take an hour or two unless there are unusual obstacles like multiple floors, downtown buildings, etc. We do not require tables or anything else from the venue. Just outlets to plug into.

Do you have any extra space requirements?
Video screens require extra space because the projector is behind the screen as these are rear projection units. Our 6 foot diagonal screen requires about 8 feet of depth and our 8.5 feet diagonal screen requires about 12 feet of depth.

Do you usually emcee the event or talk between songs?
Yes, we try and guide the event to make it an enjoyable and worry free evening for the client. Of course, we avoid all the "chessy" DJ talk, you have probably heard at too many weddings already.

What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal?
Dinner is appreciated, but not required. Seating vendors together at your wedding also allows for additional coordination of your reception events to follow and puts everyone at ease working as a team.

Will you arrange for recorded music to play during your breaks?
NA; this question applies to a band.

What is your backup plan in case you become unavailable on the day of the event?
Yes, we never overbook ourselves, so extra company personnel (not subcontractors) and backup equipment are available.

What is your overtime rate?
$25.00-$50.00 per half hour in most cases depending on the package selected. Please see our website for further details.

Do you charge for travel expenses? If yes, how much do you charge?
If the event is over 50 miles away, there is $1.00 per mile surcharge starting with mile 51. We will use mapquest.com to determine the best practical highway route and mileage from point a to point b. Please see our website for further details on this.

Additional Questions and Answers
FAQ for Weddings:

How Do You Dress?
Unless otherwise requested, we will dress in formal tuxedo attire to honor your special day.

Will You Take Any Breaks?
No! We play nonstop from the start of the reception to the last dance. Throughout the evening we'll be closely working with your photographer, videographer and caterer to insure a coordinated, worry free reception.

Can We Control The Volume Level?
Yes, if it's too high or too low, just ask and we'll adjust it to your satisfaction.

Will You Announce The Bridal Party?
Yes, if you desire, the Bridal Party can be announced upon arrival at the beginning of the reception or right before a Bridal Party Dance. We'll also be happy to announce parents, grandparents, etc. We will go over all of this information at your planning meeting.

Will You Play Requests?
Yes, from your guests and the selections you have chosen on our website. We'll also be happy to make dedications and announce anniversaries or birthdays.

What Does LV Sound Need To Set Up?
Only a location near standard grounded power outlets. Tables and chairs are not necessary for our setup. Upon completion of your reception, we will quietly put away our equipment and leave the set up area as we found it.

Please Give Me Your Definition of Professional Behavior?
To conduct oneself courteously towards you and your guests. A DJ should not smoke or consume alcohol at your reception. My goal is your total satisfaction. We want you to be happy that LV Sound was part of your special day.

Can I see LV Sound at a wedding in my area?
Just as most banquet facilities will only allow brides and grooms to view a hall prior to the start of an actual reception when the room is empty, LV Sound has a similar policy in effect. We simply cannot invite a prospective couple to another couple's wedding out of respect for the couple paying for our services. Most couples do not want other people that they do not know hanging around their reception to watch a DJ. Also, our primary job is to focus entirely on the event that we are performing at and not be occupied with sales duties.

LV Sound does perform at many public events each year that you may attend and we also have available video of actual receptions that you may view at your convenience. On this website you will also find real letters of reference from many satisfied couples through the years. In addition, we would encourage you to ask your reception hall, photographers, and other wedding vendors about LV Sound; chances are since 1988 that we have worked with them at one time or another. Finally, we ask you to ask yourself would you want somebody that you do not know at your reception to view a DJ? This is why our policy is what it is.

We were at a wedding sitting by a DJ and the music seemed too loud during dinner but in the back of the room the music could hardly be heard. What can LV Sound do to prevent this from occurring at our reception?
This happens a lot in long or odd shaped rooms where the DJ can be too loud in the front and not loud enough in the back. The LV Sound solution is to set up a satellite pair of speakers opposite of where we are set up. This way the speakers in front can be turned down and your guests can hear the music and announcements more evenly without feeling blasted by the main set of speakers. Also, later in the evening the satellite speakers can be turned off so that guests who want to dance can be near the DJ and guests that wish to have conversations can be in the back of the room.
