Frequently Asked Questions
How would you identify your photographic style?
We take a photojournalistic approach to your wedding, but include the traditional elements that every bride and groom wants, rendered with a more loose and creative style. We also extend our services beyond just the wedding day activities to include dress/tuxedo fittings, showers and parties, the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner, etc., so that your love story is completely documented from the proposal to the last dance, and beyond!
Do you offer special techniques such as hand-coloring or toning?
We work in the digital format, so all images are color-corrected, cropped (if needed), and enhanced for the best overall result. All images may be rendered in color, black and white, or color-toned at no additional charge.
Do you have experience shooting in various lighting situations?
We have experience in all types of lighting situations and circumstances, and have the technical expertise to take best advantage of each situation.
Is your media preference film or digital?
We work in 100% digital format.
How many photographers do you work with?
Both William and Janice work all events together, and we also may hire additional photographers at our discretion.
Do you guarantee your presence at the actual event?
Yes.
Do you sometimes book yourself for more than one wedding in a day? Weekend?
No, we allot the entire day to only one event.
Do you have a replacement photographer in case you become unavailable on the wedding day?
Yes, we do have backup photographers if needed.
What kind of equipment do you typically bring with you on the day-of?
All cameras and backups, more than enough memory cards to fully cover the event, tripods and monopods, as well as the appropriate flash and lighting equipment.
Do you bring back-up equipment to the event in case of malfunction?
Yes.
Do you charge hourly or full day?
We have wedding packages starting at $1000 that start with 5 hours of wedding day coverage and go up to unlimited coverage of the wedding day, rehearsal, and rehearsal dinner.
If hourly, are you available for shooting overtime? If so, how much do you charge for overtime?
For our Basic and Standard packages (which include 5 hours of wedding day coverage), our additional hourly rate is $125.00 per hour.
Do you require a meal break? If yes, do you require that the wedding party provide your meal?
No, we work through the entire event.
How many breaks do you usually take throughout the day?
We are constantly alert to more photo opportunities, and only break if necessary, and for as brief a time as possible.
Do you charge for travel?
Depending upon the distance and the package contracted, travel expenses may be added to the package total.
How soon after the event are the proofs ready for viewing?
Within one week (usually 5-7 days depending upon the number of photos taken).
In what format are the initial proofs offered?
We provide an online gallery for viewing.
How long can the couple keep the proofs?
We keep the gallery online for several months, as long as needed.
Do you retain the copyright for the photos?
Yes, though if a package is purchased which includes DVDs or CDs of the images, the images are "rights managed" (the couple may print and/or share the photos, but not resell them).
Do you reserve the right to publish the photos?
Yes.
Do you provide the digital files and/or negatives (or copies of the negatives) to the couple?
Most of our packages include CDs/DVDs of all of the images taken.
Will images be available for viewing on an online gallery?
Yes, and a separate ordering gallery will be available for guests to view and purchase prints as well.
What kind of albums do you offer?
Traditional drop in albums, coffee-table style printed books, and for the top packages, premium digital flush-mount albums.
When will I get the final book?
Depending upon the album style included in your package, you will receive your final prints and/or albums and CDs within 3-4 weeks of you providing us with your final decisions.
How long does it take to deliver a book?
As soon as we either construct the album or receive it from our publisher, we will deliver the album(s) immediately.

Tips and Advice

Relax and enjoy the experience, and know that we are working hard behind the scenes to produce the most beautiful, memorable photos of your whole experience.  Communicate to us your desires and preferences, and allow us to be as much a part of the planning process as possible so that we may integrate ourselves into as much of the event as possible.  We want to be your personal photographers, not only for your wedding, but for your life, so take every opportunity to get to know us and for us to get to know you as well.  The more emotionally connected we are to you and your event, the better our results will be.  Most of all, know that we truly care about your experience, and want to provide you with the best service possible.
