8 Simple Reasons Why Kelly is Nice Photography...

1. Pictures are ready to view in 2 weeks. (Waiting isn’t nice.)
2. Every image is digitally enhanced. (Photoshop is our friend.)
3. Each album is personally designed by Kelly. (Templates are boring.)
4. The number of weddings shot per month is limited. (Quality is better than quantity.)
5. Every photo session or wedding comes with a high resolution CD of your images.  (And you don’t have to wait till your 1st anniversary!)
6. We love your pets. (We are happy for you to include them in any photo session, wedding or meeting.)

Frequently Asked Questions for Photography
What primary photographic style do you identify with?
Contemporary

What do your packages include?
Albums, Digital Files, High Resolution Images, Proof CD of All Images

Do you have liability insurance?
No

How many photographers do you work with?
I work with at least one other photographer on every photo session. For weddings I have 2 supporting photographers.

Do you guarantee your presence at the actual event?
When my clients book a wedding with Kelly Is Nice Photography they are booking me, not my assistants. The only reason I would not be at a wedding would be if God prevented it. If that's ever the case my competent assistants would cover the event but I would still do the post production work.

Do you sometimes book yourself for more than one event in a day? Weekend?
I book a limited number of weddings and portraits per month to ensure quality in my work - never more than one in a weekend.

What kind of equipment do you typically bring with you on the day-of?
I shoot with a range of professional quality Canon cameras and lenses.

Do you bring back-up equipment to the event in case of malfunction?
Yes.

What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal?
We never schedule breaks. We just try to relax whenever we can.

Do you charge for travel?
We are available for travel and there is an additional charge to cover travel expenses.

How soon after the event are the proofs ready for viewing?
Clients only have to wait 2 weeks. The first thing they will see is a slideshow of the album I have custom designed for them. It is immediately followed by a slideshow of pictures of their wedding day set to the song of their choice. Once the design is approved the album is ordered and arrives in about 6-8 weeks.

Do you retain the copyright for the photos?
I do retain the copyright for all the images taken at the event. My clients are given a "Reproduction Release" with their High Resolution CD allowing them to get prints and photo products made at any photo lab they choose. Costco is great!

Do you provide the digital files and/or negatives (or copies of the negatives) to the client?
All events come with a High Resolution CD of all of the edited images from the event. Clients can get it 2 weeks after their event, and it's theirs to keep forever.

Will images be available for viewing online?
All of my events are posted on Pictage. Pictage is a company that hosts events for photographers. Clients will have their own site showcasing all of the edited images from their event. All of their friends and family can view and order archival prints directly through the website.

What kind of albums do you offer?
The "Wedding Albums" are Cornerstone albums. They are beautiful flush mounted coffee table books that come in a variety of sizes. I custom design each page of the album in Photoshop making each album unique. We also offer several different proofing albums. The 7x7 Willowbook is my favorite. It's a hard bound book containing all of the edited images from your event. Each page only has one image so the pictures are big and easy to view. We also offer an Album Guestbook. It's a 7x7 hard bound book with 50 images from your engagement session, divided by guest "sign-in" pages. It's a client favorite.

When will the client get the final album?
The final design of the Cornerstone album is presented 2 weeks after the wedding. Once the album is ordered it takes 6-8 weeks to arrive.

Additional Questions and Answers

Where did the name “Kelly Is Nice Photography” come from?
It was a joke at first, and I used to feel silly about it. Then one day a bride called me just because of my company name. She said she was the first of her friends to get married, and she didn’t know how to book a photographer. She saw “Kelly Is Nice Photography” on a search listing and thought that’s exactly what she needed--someone nice to help her. I’m not just there to take your picture. I’m there to help you and be your friend. My brides spend more time with me on their wedding day than almost anyone else. Luckily for them I really am nice.

Tips and Advice
Prioritize
If there is one thing that I truly regret about my own wedding it’s that I didn’t have pictures taken with my groom before the ceremony. We thought that seeing each other before the ceremony would ruin the moment, but the truth is that we could have had many special moments together having our pictures taken with beautiful images to look back on. Unfortunately, we don’t have any good pictures because it was dark when the ceremony ended. I’ve never heard a bride regret seeing her groom prior to the ceremony but I’ve heard several, including myself, wish that she had. The pictures of the bride and groom are the most important pictures of the day. The moment you walk down the aisle will be infinitely precious whether you’ve seen your groom or not. Don’t make the same mistake I did.  Plan your bride and groom picture around the best lighting of the day whether it's before or after your ceremony.
