What is Joan Day Weddings, LLC Payment Schedule for Services?
Many wedding consultants charge a percentage rate of 10-20 percent of your wedding budget. In other words, the more expensive the wedding, the more they charge you for their time. But at Joan Day Weddings we feel it is best to base our services on a hourly fee. We provide an one hour complimentary consultation for all event planning services. Service packages are designed to meet the needs of each individual client and consultation fees are confidential. Custom pricing is based on hours estimated for planning sessions, confirmation calls, creative design, on-site supervision, and consultation.  All fees and services are detailed in a Professional Services Agreement.  Our packages range from on-site coordination (day-of, month out) servies for $1,560 to partial planning tiers for $2,420-3,320 range, to full planning tiers including bridal luncheon, rehearsal dinner, send-off brunch, and wedding events coordination for $4,420.  We also offer A La Carte-Specialized Services for couples looking for specific services:  Wedding Director only for $450; Decor Set up of Reception for $375; and Decor Set up and On-site Supervision of Reception for $1,050.  Ceremony and On-site Supervision of Reception for $1,500.

Joan has an established track record of event success and has planned a variety of events for over a decade. Joan’s background includes coordination of weddings, class reunions, three-day conferences, business receptions, and other highly complex events, of which she coordinated all aspects of each event.  Joan began her public relations career in 1996, as communications coordinator for the Greater Rock Hill United Way. After leaving Rock Hill, SC, Joan worked as a contract consultant for United Way of the Midlands organizing the first "Give Us Five" Midlands Youth Initiative. After its completion, Joan was recommended to lead the communications and media plan for Harvest Hope Food Bank’s $2 million capital campaign. Joan later became the public relations director for Suggs & Kelly, Lawyers, P.A.—a three-office law firm with over 70 employees. She managed all events relating to the Suggs & Kelly Law Center building, including a press conference, ribbon cutting ceremony, grand opening and reception hosting 1,500 guests. Joan served on various non-profit boards, including Limitless Sports, a wheelchair athletics group. In 2000, Joan was able to secure a world-renowned actor, the late Christopher Reeve, as the honorary speaker for Limitless Sports first fundraiser—Life is Limitless Celebration. The celebration raised $270,000 in donations and Suggs & Kelly received the Community Spirit Award for the firm’s philanthropy. Joan has worked in the political arena as well, working for firms monitoring legislation at the South Carolina State House. She served as conference director for the South Carolina Governor’s Conference on Highway Safety.  Joan Day Weddings offers a wide-range of event planning experience, from weddings to reunions, to office grand openings and political fundraisers, to non-profit galas.  Living in Northern Virginia since 2003, Joan’s community involvement presented opportunities to help brides with wedding plans.  Joan has assisted brides in the Northern Virginia and Washington, DC area with a variety of consultation aspects, including, vendor selection, color scheme and decor, invitation ensemble and design, basic etiquette, on-site coordination, partial planning, welcome baskets/bags, and special gifts, to name a few.  Beyond event coordination and wedding etiquette, Joan offers years of skin care and cosmetics expertise.
