"Every little girl dreams of herself as a bride. What will I look like? Will I be as beautiful as the dream in my head? The day the Goodwin’s came to Charlottesville for my shoot, I felt special, dressed all in white, with the veil and the pearls and the whole she-bang. I felt like my goal was being reached and exceeded: a traditionally classic bride with a touch of Flower Child. But then, I saw the magic that Jim and Krisna produced… There are so many people out there who buy an expensive camera and a website and call themselves photographers; our generation has consequently forgotten that this is a rare and special art that requires the same sort of eyes and hands as to paint or sculpt. The photographs Jim produced are truly artistic. The colors are rich and moving. The backdrops met my imagination and took it for a walk: trees and flowers in my mother in law’s garden, and bricks and columns at my dear alma mater, U.Va. And he reached through his lens and captured exactly the thoughts I wasn’t even aware of at the time… I am laughing to myself… I have a secret. There is a Queen in these photos that I never imagined I could be, even after wearing a crown to Miss America. I don’t just look like a queen, in those photos; you can see that I felt like one.
