Photographer Jaime Valdez has been taking photographs for 19 years. Jaime grew up in Klamath Falls watching his father photograph at his own studio. He started working at the Herald and News in 1991 in the darkroom as a photo tech. That is where he met his wife, Melissa. They were married in 1997 and moved to Portland in 1998, where Jaime started working as lead photographer for Community Newspapers.

Jaime and Melissa moved to Wilsonville in 2001 and after some traveling, had a daughter in 2005. They enjoy spending time with their family and friends, and especially cheering for the Ducks!

Jaime continues photojournalism with Community Newspapers and has received numerous awards from Oregon Newspaper & Press Association, and the Society of Professional Journalists. Besides newspapers, his portfolio includes wedding, portraits, scenics, food and sports.
