Frequently Asked Questions
How would you identify your photographic style?
I would say I am naturally a mix of photojournalistic and a modern take on posed photography, but it is your wedding so I will do whatever you want!
Do you offer special techniques such as hand-coloring or toning?
My portfolio on here is representative of what I offer!
Do you have experience shooting in various lighting situations?
One of my most recent weddings was in a very dark and beautiful small church. The very next weekend, I was shooting outdoors in the middle of the day!
Is your media preference film or digital?
Digital
How many photographers do you work with?
I am the sole photographer. If requested, I can provide a 2nd for a fee.
Do you guarantee your presence at the actual event?
Yes, absolutely.
Do you sometimes book yourself for more than one wedding in a day? Weekend?
Never
Do you have a replacement photographer in case you become unavailable on the wedding day?
I network with several area photographers. We all try to help each other out if anyone were to have an emergency.
What kind of equipment do you typically bring with you on the day-of?
I do not usually bring lightstands or tripods as they tend just to get in the way. I carry a medium sized bag on me at all times which includes my back up gear and all the necessary items.
Do you bring back-up equipment to the event in case of malfunction?
Always
Do you charge hourly or full day?
Full Day unlimited coverage is available in all of my packages.
Do you require a meal break? If yes, do you require that the wedding party provide your meal?
Since I do provide unlimited coverage, I would like to be able to eat a quick meal. I do not typically take a "break", but I also do not typically take photos of guests while they are eating. So, I use this quick time as a chance to eat at the event. It is always appreciated when a meal is provided, but in the case that it is not, I do have a protein bar on hand!
How many breaks do you usually take throughout the day?
Breaks??? When I photograph a wedding, I am on a rush the entire day.
Do you charge for travel?
Outside of my general area, yes.
How soon after the event are the proofs ready for viewing?
This really depends on the season. Usually no later than 4 weeks.
In what format are the initial proofs offered?
Gallery online
How long can the couple keep the proofs?
A very nice spiral bound proofbook is offered with each package
Do you retain the copyright for the photos?
Yes, but I do offer reprint rights. You just can't sell or edit my photos.
Do you reserve the right to publish the photos?
Yes, unless special agreements are made.
Do you provide the digital files and/or negatives (or copies of the negatives) to the couple?
They are available for purchase and print credit can be applied.
Will images be available for viewing on an online gallery?
Yes
What kind of albums do you offer?
Many different types are available ranging in pricing.
When will I get the final book?
This really depends on the design time involved, number of sides, and type of book ordered.
