Shannon is always wonderful to work with! You can tell she really loves what she does and strives to make each wedding and event special. Everyone that I know who has worked with Shannon has raved about working with her and I would not hesitate to recommend Happy Trails Carriage Service to any of my clients and friends.
We look forward to working with you in the future. Thank you - Amy
Happy Trails is absolutely the only carriage company I would trust with any of my brides. Beautiful white horses (most other companies have black horses.. how funeral!) that are so well treated and loved. Great customer service. Shannon will do anything to make her bride's ride magical and memorable.
All of the brides I know that have used Happy Trails have been so complimentary of the service they received. From the carriage being absolutely immaculate and the horses perfectly groomed, to the incredible service they received, each one has relayed nothing but positive things to say about Happy Trails. Shannon truly loves what she does and will do everything she can to make sure she provides the best service. Her horses are beautiful and she takes great care of them and all of her equipment. She is one of the most trustworthy and fun people in the carriage business!
Happy Trails has the most elegant and beautiful horses you could ask for to arrive at your fairy tale wedding in style and the carriages are beautifully decorated and comfortable. I would highly recommend using Happy Trails for any special occasion.
Happy Trails Carriage Service is by far the most professional in the industry. Shannon knows what it takes to pull off a breath taking entrance and exit with her carriage and white horses. If you make an appointment with Shannon you can always depend on her being there well dressed and on time.
Every bride should have a fair tail carriage ride! Shannon's team adds the perfect finish to a beautiful wedding. pamm m

Frequently Asked Questions for Transportation
What types of cars do you have in your fleet?
Horse and Carriage

Do you have liability insurance?
Yes

Describe your fleet and drivers:
I have two carriages one with burgandy velvet interior and one with white vinyl interior. I have two fantastic women that drive with me that love my horses as much as I do. We are always professional, sharply dressed and ready to entertain. The carriages may have one or two beautiful white horses, but they have two most often which does not have any additional cost.

What (if any) amenities are your vehicles equipped with?
We have cd/mp3 players in each carriage as well as LED twinkly lights and a base of white silk roses that are ready to have your wedding colors added.

Is there a minimum amount of rental time that is required?
There is a one hour minumum on all jobs that require the horses and carriage transported to your location.

Do you offer more than just pickup and drop-off? If yes, what services?
I also offer bringing the bridesmaids to the aisle, flower girls, ring bearers and the bride and her father when possible. I can also give short rides during the reception to keep the guests entertained. We are always able to do photo shoots as well whether it be for just the bride and groom, or the whole family.

Do you charge for travel time?
I charge for travel time if it is more than 30 miles from McKinney,TX.

What is your overtime rate?

Additional Questions and Answers
Things not to do at your wedding:
1)Have sparklers or any kind of fireworks close to the horses, sparklers are fireworks and the smoke instinctually frightens a horse when they smell it. They also do not do well in the wind. Sparks could fly into the horses hair and burn them. Most cities also have ordinances prohibiting them as well.
2)Do NOT spray silly string or throw things at the horses, this could spook them and cause injuries or damage to guests and surrounding property.
3)Always consult the driver before attempting to bring any other animal near a carriage, i.e. dogs, tigers, elephants, other horses and live doves as these animals may not always act safely near each other.
4)Do not tie cans to the back of the carriage as the noise may spook the horses and cause a runaway.
Additional information:
We can only travel 2-3 miles in an hour. Do not expect this to happen in any extreme weather such as rain storms, or excessive heat. The horses cannot handle these conditions safely and it could do physical harm to them.

Tips and Advice
It is ok to blow bubbles or throw rose petals around the horse and carriage. A bottle of champagne can be left in the carriage for the bride and groom. Decorations can also be put on the carriage by the florist in some occasions. Clapping and cheering is definitly ok as well as loud music as the horses are trained to be desensitized to these things.
