How does your venue determine the cost of the space?
The cost for events at HMBGL are simply a sum of the parts: site fee + food & beverage per person + service charge (18%) + sales tax on F&B (9.25%). Site fees are fairly priced (plus offer so many wonderful extra features to save you time and money) and a reasonable food & beverage minimum (depends upon the day of the week, season, and room(s) reserved). Do you offer any special services?
We offer too many unique and wonderfully helpful special services to list here! But here's a snapshot: we take all brides and grooms via golf cart to the most amazingly scenic private ocean bluffs and nearby golden-sand beach for bridal portraits -a fabulous privelege only afforded to HMBGL brides....All of our receptions include the use of upgraded chiavari chairs...we're happy to create custom menus incorporating unique ethnic foods or menus near and dear to your heart...valet parking for you and your guests is always complimentary...
Do you offer additional items for the ceremony?
Ceremonies including use of deluxe white wooden folding chairs with padded seats, a classic white arch backdrop, and more. Please refer to the wedding brochure for full details.
Do you rent other items such as linens, tables, or flatware?
Our receptions include use of our classic tableware (plates, flatware, glassware), house linens, and elegant chiavari chairs. We also have a dance floor available and can offer our "insider" discount for upgraded linens and such, too.
Do you require clients to use a specific list of vendors?
Brides can use any vendors they wish for photography, videography, cakes, entertainment, and more. We provide the food & beverages, though we may be able to partner with outside food vendors for something special (kosher meals, interactive sushi stations, and more). Please inquire for more information.
Do you require the client to use your musicians? If you do not require this, is that an additional fee to bring in one's own musicians?
Brides and grooms are welcome to hire their favorite musicians, DJs, or other entertainment professions.
Do you have any special side rooms that can be rented out for the occasion?
We offer four ceremony sites and six reception venues to choose from (or just about any combination thereof). Most clients choose the gorgeous Ocean View Practice Green for their ceremony, followed by the Ocean View Terrace + 1st Tee Putting Green for their cocktail hour (imagine your guests enjoying wonderful and drinks & playing a little mini golf as the sun sets over the Pacific Ocean), followed by a gourmet meal in our Main Dining Room (more ocean views!), and then dancing the night away in either the Main Dining Room or in the adjacent bar, which affords a private dance club-like experience where you can crank up the music and turn the lights down without overwhelming the event guests who wish to sit back and watch the dancing while still chatting with other guests.
Can the client provide their own alcohol if desired?
Guests may pre-arrange to bring in their own wine in exchange for a corkage fee but they may not bring in any other alcoholic beverages or vendors.
How many power outlets does the venue have?
Our venue was remodeled in 2008 and offers state-of-the-art technical support including plenty of electrical outlets, WiFi, use of flat screen TVs throughout the facility and more.
What restrictions (if any) on photography?
There are no restrictons on photography within the clubhouse. Clients and their photographer must have a HMBGL employee with them at all times while on the golf course for safety and security purposes.

Music must be kept within legal limits (decibel level), which hasn't been a problem yet even with live bands, energetic DJs, mariachi ensembles, and dragon dance troupes.

If your site is in a public location, is the client required to get any permits?
No event permits are required for standard wedding ceremonies and receptions on our property, but don't forget to get your marriage license!
Does your venue often accommodate more than one event at a time?
HMBGL is proud to offer exclusive wedding services to just one client at a time. We don't book multiple events for the same day.
Can you provide a coat check?
Yes, we can provide attended or unattended coat check services for a nominal additional fee.

Describe your parking facilities:
We offer complimentary valet parking for all event guests. There is also a small self-parking lot next to the clubhouse and plenty of handicapped parking, too.
