Describe your DJ style:
Growing up in New Orleans in the 70's I was exposed to music that made you move your feet and soul!My music style is as broad as it can go.Being a professional DJ and running Gold Dust Ent. for the past 8 yrs you really must relate to your clients needs and taste in music as well as their friends and family and to know when to play the songs at the right time and still keep it fresh.
What is your usual attire?
Upscale and professional,fun & hip.
If you do not have one of the songs pre-requested by the client, do you require that they provide it?
In the age of mp3, most selections can be found quite easily! If it is just impossible to get,we we notify you in advance.
How many other DJs do you work with?
We are one of the very few DJ husband & wife teams around!
What is the minimum amount of time you will DJ for?
We book all weddings on a 4-6hr block after that overtime is added.
Is the client able to meet the DJ before booking?
We strongly suggest meeting your DJ. A lot of DJ companies just send out someone that you never met with.We never farm out your big day to some second string DJ. When you meet with Jennifer and myself you get both of us at your wedding. We both DJ & MC your event to ensure a smooth coordinated reception.
Do you specialize in any ethnic or international events?
We have done many international weddings! We enjoy music from all over the world...
Do you bring your own equipment?
We use only profeesional state of the art sound equipment!
What (if any) special equipment, such as disco balls or lighting, is offered with your service?
All available upon request!
How much time do you usually need to set up? Do you require that the site or client provide a table for you to set up on?
We arrive at east 2 hours before your wedding reception. Its alway nice to have a table provided with the proper linen. But we do have our own tables if necessary.
Do you have any extra space requirements?
Usually not. We just ask for our own power outlet!
Do you usually emcee the event or talk between songs?
Yes we provide this in our wedding package.Jennifer & I both share MC duties.
What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal?
Its pretty standard to provide the DJ with at least a vendors meal.
Will you arrange for recorded music to play during your breaks?
We don't take any breaks.Thats something else that set us apart from most DJs. We don't put on musical wallpaper.
What is your backup plan in case you become unavailable on the day of the event?
We keep affiliations with several other DJ services in the area.
What is your overtime rate?
200 per hour after 6 hrs.
Do you charge for travel expenses? If yes, how much do you charge?
First 75 miles from 91301 is a courtesy. After that we can discuss at our meeting.
