About

C.M. Glover ~
Photographic Artist

What better way to kick off a wedding season than with a fabulous and sexy boudoir session.
It can make a great groom's gift or something special to add to your personal honeymoon album.

I also love working with couples for the engagement shoot.  The more playful and sexy and loving, the better.
Let's see how creative we can be!!

With my background in photojournalism and art - artistically and candidly capturing moments is what I do.  Every event is like a dance where I move with the flow of the dance ... among the other dancers ... observing and recording with my camera.

My shooting partner and I have the most fun with couples who have something special planned - not quite traditional - it can still be very romantic, but maybe has a twist.  This kind of setting creates great opportunities for our candid style of shooting.

If your wedding is a two or three day event with lots of activities - so much the better.  We just hope you have a large hard drive for all of the pics you are going to get.

We love to work with couples who are building a wedding website from the time they get engaged  -  with photos of the couple, the location for the wedding and other details of the event.

And we are happy to shoot weddings for anyone, no matter your ethnic background, or lifestyle choices.  We just want to be sure we connect and have a good rapport.

Adam (my shooting partner) and I are starting something new.  We are offering one day travel photography workshops, here in Connecticut, specifically for brides and grooms who want to beef up their photo skills before the honeymoon - to come back with the best ever honeymoon pix.  Please email if this sounds interesting to you and let us know when you would like to see a workshop take place and what you might like to see covered in the workshop.

We will be announcing the first workshop on our blog.  Also keep on the lookout for the photo tips we will be recording and posting on thegreenbrideguide.com.

I've been a photojournalist for about fifteen years and spent the last ten primarily freelancing for the New York Times - including weddings for the Style section.
I've also done some work for periodicals like Smithsonian and Yankee as well as for the book division of National Geographic. My style is very documentary. I am there to tell a story - the story of your wedding day.

Frequently Asked Questions for Photography
Do you offer special techniques such as hand-coloring or toning?
Although I primarily promote myself as being a green wedding photographer shooting digital images, I do love shooting film and as long as they keep making it and the labs keep processing it I will shoot Black and White infrared. The way I shoot it gives a soft look like a 1930's movie. You can see some on my website.

Do you have experience shooting in various lighting situations?
Any. I've been shooting for a newspaper....

Is your media preference film or digital?
I shoot most events on digital. But as mentioned above I will shoot film when requested and love it. However, it has a bigger price tag.

How many photographers do you work with?
One other besides myself.

Do you sometimes book yourself for more than one event in a day? Weekend?
Definitely not.

Do you bring back-up equipment to the event in case of malfunction?
Yes.

Do you charge hourly or full day?
We charge according to the scope of the event, also factoring in location and time of year.

Do you charge for travel?
We will travel. Additional charges depend on how far we are traveling.

How soon after the event are the proofs ready for viewing?
Three weeks (or less depending our current work load).

Do you retain the copyright for the photos?
Always.

Do you provide the digital files and/or negatives (or copies of the negatives) to the client?
We provide digital files.

Will images be available for viewing online?
As 'green' photographers we prefer to do as much on line as possible and like to work with couples who are setting up wedding websites.

Additional Questions and Answers
"C.M. Glover has a Green Bride Guide rating of 2 leaves!"

1. Type of service:
Photographer

2. Green Practices:
Use rechargeable batteries
Use digital technology
Post images online instead of printing hard copies for review
Use LED or compact fluorescent lights
Recycle old electronics

3. What green practices does your company incorporate into its business? (Examples: recycling, composting, CFL lights, Energy Star appliances, carbon offsetting, recycled paper packaging, reclaimed or repurposed materials, biodegradable cleaners, or 100% PCW paper products)
I don't think really think of myself as "Green" (in capital letters), because recycling, reusing, avoided chemicals in all of my products, and using the most energy efficient items available has been a way of life for me for all of my adult life. I intentionally don't have a studio because it wastes resources. I prefer to shoot available light on location, anyway. And I don't even own a printer so I use very little paper.

4. Please use this space to elaborate on why your company is an eco-friendly business. Please be as thorough and informative as possible. If you have any questions contact listings@thegreenbrideguide.com
Being eco-friendly is just how I have always chosen to live. I have to say it does not include giving up things I enjoy. But I am always thrilled when the world catches up and starts making things like organic food and bio diesel more readily available.
