Yes, complimentary consultation and tastings are encouraged for wedding cake orders. Take advantage of the free in-home service I also offer (local only of course!)
What are your tasting hours?
I am flexible and try to best accomodate your busy schedule. I can meet weekdays and evenings and saturday.
Describe how you price, such as by slice or by tier, for your cakes?
Pricing is per serving and starts at $5.00 for buttercream icing with a simple style of decoration. You can decrease your overall price per serving by using a backup sheet cake with a smaller display cake
Does the price include the top tier of the cake?
Yes, the top tier is included in the estimate of servings. If you plan to keep it you would need to account for it's size.
Do you offer custom cakes, or do you work with pre-designed styles?
Both. You can choose from a vast portfolio of designs I've already done, bring me a photo or drawing of something else you've found, or we can create a custom design of your own. Things like invitations, color scheme, venue/site, dress details (yours and/or the BMs) are all helpful sources of inspiration for your custom cake.
What (if any) special ingredients, such as fresh fruits or farm-fresh butter, do you use in your cakes?
I use fresh, natural ingredients as much as possible. Fresh eggs, cream, butter, high quality chocolates and nuts, etc. all make a huge difference in the final outcome.
On average, how far in advance of the event do you prepare the cake?
Generally, its a 3-4 day process. Your cake is never frozen and will taste fresher than anything you've ever had!
How many cakes do you schedule for a typical weekend?
Usually only 1 order per weekend so that I can dedicate my efforts to your cake, but if the order is small I may accept another order.
Will you work with the client's florist to garnish the cake?
Yes. I prefer to place the flowers on the cake as you and I have discussed how to arrange them on the cake. I always recommend the florist to provide the same flowers, so that everything will match. If you are not using a florist I am happy to provide the cake flowers at an additional cost.
What (if any) cake accessories, such as a cake stand or cake cutter, do you rent out?
I have a variety of cake stands available to rent and am ready and willing to help you come up with cost effective and creative ways of displaying your cake at little or no cost.
Do you offer delivery? If yes, how much is your average delivery fee?
Yes, delivery is highly recommended! Traveling with a cake this special is stressful! Local (concord, pleasant hill, martinez, walnut creek) delivery is no charge. Outside this area is quoted based on milege and estimated time of travel.
