Some people call me Em.
Some of my favorites call me Em the Gem.


Photography is my passion and my calling. I love the way a good photograph makes me feel. Looking at a photograph is a time machine that takes me to a different place. Where I am reminded of love and hope and happiness. Gem Photo exists to give that gift to others.


I studied Sociology at UCLA. I love people. They fascinate and motivate me. I love meeting new people and finding out what makes them smile. I get excited when other people get me. I love making people laugh, and a lot of times I will resort to anything to make you laugh for a photo. Be warned.


I feel deeply and express it in everything I do. I am drawn to emotions. I am drawn to colors and fashion and soft light.

I love shopping at thrift stores, finding treasures amidst the clutter, and seeing new beauty in old things.
I love the history there. I love that the photographs I take become a part of history. I love to tell a story.
