About
For Goodness Cakes has been in business since 2001. Our goal is to provide a moist, delicious and beautiful cake to fufill the cake you’ve always dreamed of.  Once you taste our cakes, you will be pleasantly surprised because most people are accustomed to wedding cakes always being dry.  No one should have to eat dry cakes!  Our cakes are moist sponge cakes.    We do not put "simple syrups" on our cakes, which many bakeries do to try to add moisture to their dry cakes.  If a cake is baked correctly, it will be moist without needing to pour syrup on it.

One of our specialties is being able to make our buttercream look as smooth as fondant.  So you get the fondant look without the added cost of fondant and most people in the Atlanta area don’t care for the chewy fondant texture.  Most of our cakes are iced with buttercream, but we also use white chocolate cream cheese, and occasionally whippped cream icing, although designs are more limited with whipped cream icing.

Customer service is very important to us.  Many of our customers become true friends and even feel like family.  We take great pride in delivering the highest level of personal attention to our customers.  The wedding day is one of the most memorable days in someone’s life, and it is our goal to try and take some of the stress out of the wedding planning by giving the bride the peace of mind that her wedding cake will be just like she dreamed of and her guests will be telling her how much they enjoyed her wedding cake.  We offer wedding cakes for a large range of budgets from $400-$5000+.  The level of attention and service is the same whether you order a $400 cake or a $5000 cake.

We look forward to the opportunity to work with you and be a part of your special day!

Consultations, On-site Delivery, On-site Setup, Pickup, Tastings

Do you provide customary cakes, such as Croquembouche?
No

Yes, we offer tastings during weekdays, weeknights, and some weekend appointments, although weekends are more difficult due to wedding deliveries.

What are your tasting hours?
Between 10am - 8:30pm.

Describe how you price, such as by slice or by tier, for your cakes?
Prices are per serving and start at $4 per serving for a standard cake flavor (champagne, chocolate, or vanilla) with buttercream icing and a simple design (dots, swiss dots, ribbon).

Do you offer custom cakes, or do you work with pre-designed styles?
We love it when customers bring in custom cake designs, whether they be ones the bride designed herself or something she found in a magazine or other cake website. We also have a large portfolio that our brides can look through and choose a design that matches their tastes.

On average, how far in advance of the event do you prepare the cake?
For a Saturday wedding, the cakes are generally baked on a Tuesday or Wednesday and kept wrapped and chilled until Thursday when they are iced. The cakes would be assembled, stacked, and decorated on Friday and then delivered on Saturday. Cakes are better if they have setup for a few days because they will settle, much like a house settles over the years. If a cake is iced and stacked before it has settled, it will cause bulges on the sides of the cake because the air from the settling tries to escape which produces a bulge.

How many cakes do you schedule for a typical weekend?
As long as the timing and locations are sufficiently spaced apart, we can do 3-4 wedding cakes on a Saturday.

Will you work with the client's florist to garnish the cake?
Absolutely. We prefer to place the flowers on the cake because if the cake gets damaged while placing the flowers, I can repair it whereas a florist could not. I do not charge to place flowers on the cake.

What (if any) cake accessories, such as a cake stand or cake cutter, do you rent out?
I have a large selection of cake stands available for rental, starting at $25. The average cake stand rents for $45. I have silver, gold, white, brown, and black. I also have cupcake stands that fit up to 100 cupcakes, and fountains.

Do you offer delivery? If yes, how much is your average delivery fee?
Yes. Our delivery fees start at $35 and go up to $75 for some metro areas and highter for out of state deliveries. Our average fee is $50.
