What types, such as unedited footage or special effects, of videography do you offer?
Our story telling style goes hand in hand with our documentary shooting style. We let the people and the events of the day speak for themselves. The finished video will be the story of your wedding as told by you, your guests and all of the special moments that occur which make this day unforgettable. From the opening shot of the giggling bridesmaids, to the best man fighting back a tear during his toast, to your grandmother busting a move on the dance floor, the story of your wedding day is told in an elegant and soulful style, naturally as it happened without the use of distracting and unnecessary special effects.
Do you have lighting equipment to accommodate a more dimly-lit event?
Our cameras have the ability to record a crisp and clear image in extremely low light situations without the use of large mood killing lights. However, as a precaution we do carry extremely small camera lights that we rarely, if ever find the need to use. If for some reason we are in a situation where it is absolutely necessary to use a camera light, then you can be assured that the light will be used extremely sparingly and directed only where we need it.
Do you guarantee your presence at the actual event?
Peter Malone, the owner of First Floor Films will personally handle all of the aspects of your wedding video from the initial planning, to the shooting, to the editing. We prefer to meet each couple and spend a few hours together before the big day so we can all get to know each other a little. Something casual like coffee in the afternoon or maybe even a few cocktails in the evening! This way we can listen to the plans you have made for the wedding, get an idea of your personal tastes and hear the expectations you have for your video.
What kind of equipment do you typically bring with you on the day-of?
We use a combination of the latest professional Sony camcorders, the Sony PD170 and the Sony VX2100. These are professional 3CCD cameras that not only produce crystal clear images with beautiful vibrant colors but also capture CD quality audio. But, the most important aspect of these cameras is their ability to shoot in low light situations. Because of this we rarely, if at all find it necessary to use any additional lighting.
