Additional Questions and Answers

Q) Why Should I hire a Coordinator?
A) Have you considered hiring a wedding coordinator to help you plan your big day? Are you unsure what a wedding coordinator can do for you? A wedding coordinator is there to work with you and will do as much or as little as you like. Planning a wedding can be very stressful. It takes a lot of time and energy in order to make your wedding day dreams come true. Everything involved in planning a wedding must be brought together to ensure that the bride and groom are able to enjoy themselves without worry. A wedding consultant will be there to help reduce the stress by managing and organizing all of the details. Our expertise can help to create a pleasant planning experience. A wedding consultant can save you valuable time by providing you with a portfolio of preferred vendors or doing the required legwork including vendor research and selections, venue site inspections, budget management, contract reviews, timeline planning from start to finish, and so much more.

Q) Can I afford a wedding coordinator?
A) You can't afford NOT to have a coordinator! Coordination is part of the budget, not an extra expense. Based upon our recommendations and expertise, clients experience an overall savings that pays for our services while having with the wedding of their dreams within their budget. One of the largest misconceptions is that a wedding consultant does not fit into the budget. Hiring a wedding consultant can save you money, save you time, and allow for you to relax and enjoy your day knowing that all your expectations are being fulfilled by a professional who has your best interest at heart.

Q) Won't a bridal consultant want to take control and run the whole show?
A) Some might. But, realistically, your wedding is all about YOU! We are professionals and work with our brides in handling as much or as little of the wedding planning as you want. It is your wedding and we would never want to deprive you of the fun of planning and making key decisions. You make all of the ultimate decisions; we make sure that everything is executed according to plan. It's still your wedding, but it's our job!

Q) My mom or a friend is going to help plan the wedding. Why do I need to a professional?
A)
If you think enough of someone to invite them to your wedding, why would you want to put them to work instead of being one of the important invited guests enjoying the day? Even though your friends and family want to help you on your special day, in reality, they don't really feel comfortable taking charge and making decisions that are going to effect the most important day of your life. Because All Occasions Event Planning has worked very closely with you throughout the planning, you will have peace of mind knowing that everything will be handled as efficiently as possible by your coordinator. Whether it is a problem with the flowers, a cake that's melting, or a stain on your dress, a coordinator can handle it behind the scenes so that you can enjoy your day stress free, and so can your family!

Q) What if I have already done most of the planning? Can you still help me?
A)
Yes. We can assist you in many ways at your rehearsal and day of your wedding. Our Partial & Day of wedding coordination package would be perfect for you. We can help coordinate your ceremony and reception to ensure that everything runs smoothly.

Q) How much can I expect to pay for a coordinator?
A)
All of our packages have been designed to fit every budget; ranging from $600-$1,200 not to mention our a la carte services which start as low as $40. Please contact us for more information.

Q) How do you charge for your services?
A)
We have a flat fee per event based upon the typical services required of us, and then we can customize a plan that works within your budget. Under the flat fee rate we will complete all the work that we have agreed to do regardless of how long it takes us to complete, it is like an all-inclusive plan.

Q) Why don’t you charge as a percentage of the wedding?
A)
A wedding planner who charges you a percentage of your total wedding budget has no incentive to find you the best deals on the florists, invitations, chair covers, etc. The higher your bills are, the larger the profit for them. Since we charge a flat and/or hourly fee, we work in your best interest to negotiate the best prices for the highest quality products and services.

Tips and Advice

This is a good luck saying which dates back to the Victorian era and many brides will try and ensure that they have something of each in their wedding outfit.

Something Old is meant to represent the link with the bride's own family and the past particularly mother or grandmother or even most distant relations. Something old is symbolic of continuity. To symbolize this link brides may choose to wear a piece of antique family jewelry which belonged to the relative. Alternatively they may select something from the mother's or grandmothers wedding gown. Other things that may be chosen include a handkerchief, a scarf or a piece of lace.

Something New represents good luck and success and the brides hopes for a bright future in her new married life. The wedding gown is often chosen as the new item but it could be anything that is purchased new for the wedding such as the wedding flowers or the wedding rings. Wearing a new item on your wedding day conveys the message that you and your husband are creating a new union that will endure forever.

Something Borrowed
is to represent to the bride that friends and family will be there for her on the special day and in the future when help is needed. "Borrowing" is especially important, since it has to come from a happily married woman, thereby lending the bride some of her own marital happiness to carry into the new marriage. Anything can be borrowed but it must be returned afterwards. Another way to incorporate a borrowed item into your wedding day attire is to borrow a friend’s piece of jewelry. If you have a close friend who has worn the same necklace for as long as you have known her, you might consider borrowing this particular necklace for your wedding day as a reminder of your friendship. Perhaps she wore the necklace on her own wedding day.

Something Blue in ancient times is the symbol of faithfulness, purity and loyalty. Often a blue item is the garter and in olden times the couple wore blue bands on the border of their wedding attire to denote, love, modesty and fidelity. Another way to wear something blue is to include a blue flower in your headdress or theme your wedding flowers in blue.

Brides have been honoring the tradition of wearing an old, a new, a borrowed and a blue item during their wedding for centuries. Although wearing these items is supposed to symbolize good luck for the bride, they are also just a fun tradition that gives the bride an opportunity to express her admiration for a few special people in her life on her special day.
