About
Unique Dynamic Modern

We produce beautiful images with very non-traditional styles. We prefer to shoot on-location with unique backgrounds for beautiful images, as opposed to backdrops. We love to shoot in places where we've never been before, and hunting for the perfect light. Weddings are our passion and we strive to produce the most beautiful, unique, dynamic and modern photographs possible. We started this company after shooting with other photographers and developed a love for not only the craft of photography, but also the romance of weddings. There is nothing more special than capturing the emotions felt by all during the most extraordinary day of a bride's life.

We love helping brides, so even if all you have are questions we would love to hear from you and help out in any way we can.

Tips and Advice
The top 10 things you should know about wedding photography:

1. Photographers. A digital camera (no matter how good or expensive it is) doesn't make someone a photographer. A digital camera is just one of the many tools that professionals use to create great images. The most important tool is light, and how the photographer uses it. A friend with a camera is a good option if you have little to no budget for photography. However, if you can afford it, spring for a professional. You'll get better images and he won't back out at the last minute or forget to bring memory cards.

2. Make-up Artists. If you can afford it, get a professional make-up artist. Professional make-up artists can take you to that next level of beauty; they will know how to accent your face in all the right places and prevent shine for the whole day. You will not only look great in your wedding photographs, but at your wedding as well.

3. Digital Negatives. Most professionals today include some form of digital negatives. This means that you will be able to have your wedding images for years to come. However, there is one drawback. Your images should be burned to a new DVD every 5 years; otherwise the information on the DVD will begin degrade and your images will be lost. Some photographers include low resolution (meaning that you may be able to print a 4x6 from the file or nothing at all), some include full resolution (you will be able to print up to a 20x30 print). Whatever they offer, make sure that it is what you will need in the future should the photography business close or retire. You can also expect the price of a package to be higher if digital negatives are included because the photography studio will likely be losing money on print sales.

4. Digital vs. Film. Previously wedding photographers shot with film because that was the only option available. Today I would say 99.9% of wedding photographers shoot all digital for weddings. There are several reasons for this: First, it is much more viable to shoot in digital than film which means a better ability to capture great moments. Next, you know what you are getting as soon as you take a picture so that if you didn't account for a variable you can correct it and get the image you want. With film you would have to wait a week to see if the wedding turned out right. Lastly, you are given more creative latitude in the processing stage.

5. Hours of coverage. Always budget more time than you think you will need by at least an hour. With every wedding I have been to there has been an unavoidable delay which has set back the schedule. Once that happens, it starts to snowball and every event begins to happen later and later. Budgeting more time also allows the photographer more time to get more creative and artistic shots. 6. Formal Photographs. Formal photographs take longer than you might think. For us it takes about 3 minutes per formal photograph and that is if everyone is cooperating. If you take the number of formal photographs that you think you might want and multiply it by 3, that should be about the amount of time you will need to budget. Adding on an extra 15 minutes of breathing room wouldn't hurt.

7. Retainers. These are usually a non refundable deposit that secures your date. Photographers usually require this because it shows that you are invested in them and will use their services. Photographers then can block your wedding date for you and will not schedule another photography session on your date.

8. Natural Lighting. As photographers, we are obsessed with natural lighting. It is very flattering to just about anyone. Whether it is indoors or outdoors, natural light gives a greater sense of atmosphere. It means that it we will have to bring less flash equipment, which in turn means that we will stand out less and be able to capture those candid moments more. When planning your wedding, try to make sure that there is enough light to shoot in and you will find yourself with better photographs.

9. Reception lighting. Usually at this time the sun has set and the photographer is left with a situation where the lights are turned down very low. This is not the best situation for wedding photography, and your images will reflect this. Instead of having a dim reception, we suggest lighting everything so that the oldest person attending can clearly read the menu. This will give us enough ambient light to work with to provide a sense of atmosphere, and your guests won't look like they are being photographed in the dark.

10. Engagement shoots. If you have the opportunity to do an engagement shoot with your photographer, jump on the opportunity! It is like a rehearsal for your wedding. You will be able to see how your photographer works and the photographer will be able to see how comfortable you are in front of the camera and how best to photograph you. Plus you will get some great pictures of you and your fiancé that you can use for your personal touches such as save the date cards.

11. First dances. To present you in the most flattering images, we suggest not singing during the first dance.
