Do you offer special techniques such as hand-coloring or toning?
We do put a soft focus effect on some of our photos. However, we shoot everything in color. Then, you can take your CD or negatives to your photo lab. At the lab, they can make black/white, sepia, touch ups, black/white with colored flowers, all those special techniques.
Do you have experience shooting in various lighting situations?
We have experience with all types of lighting situations. Since we only shoot on location, this is an area that we deal with at every wedding.
Is your media preference film or digital?
We have both film and digital cameras. You may choose the media that you perfer.
How many photographers do you work with?
Both Hugh and Shirley take photos throughout the wedding.
Do you guarantee your presence at the actual event?
Yes, we guarantee that Hugh and Shirley will be the photographers for your wedding. We do not hire other people to work for us.
Do you sometimes book yourself for more than one event in a day? Weekend?
We only do one wedding a day. This is why we can provide unlimited time at your wedding. Yes, we do book more than one wedding in a weekend.
Do you have a replacement photographer in case you become unavailable on the day of the event?
Yes, we do have an experienced photographer to replace us in case of an emergency. He is now retired after 30 years of teaching photography and 20 years of shooting weddings.
What kind of equipment do you typically bring with you on the day-of?
We only use Canon equipment. We have two Canon Elan film and two Canon 40D digital cameras that are identical. All of our equipment is interchangable, so that if one happens to malfunction, the one camera is easily changed out. Our equipment is serviced every six months to ensure good maintance and performance of our cameras.
Do you bring back-up equipment to the event in case of malfunction?
Yes.
Do you charge hourly or full day?
We do not charge for additional hours. Our rate is for a typical wedding, which normally lasts between five to six hours.
Are you available to shoot extra hours? If yes, how much do you charge for extra hours?

What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal?
We take breaks only when needed.
Do you charge for travel?
Within the metro Phoenix area, we do not charge for travel. Outside the Phoenix are travel expensives varies.
How soon after the event are the proofs ready for viewing?
Usually within three weeks after your wedding, the photos are ready for you.
In what format are the initial proofs offered?
We do not have proofs. You receive a 4X6 finished photo of every picture that we shoot. Depending on what media you select (film or digital), you will receive the negatives (film) or CD-ROM (digital).
How long can the client keep the proofs?

Do you retain the copyright for the photos?
Yes, you will also receive a copyright release form from Clarkin Photography. The release form enable you to make reprints and enlargements of your wedding photos at the photo lab of your choosing.
Do you reserve the right to publish the photos?
Yes, we do reserve the right to publish the photos, if we choose. If you do not wish us to do that, we will respect your wishes and not publish them.
Do you provide the digital files and/or negatives (or copies of the negatives) to the client?
Yes.
Will images be available for viewing online?
No, we are not set up for that yet. However, the bride and groom can set up their own site.
What kind of albums do you offer?
We offer three different albums for additional purchase. The albums varies on color and type.
When will the client get the final album?
Three weeks after your wedding.
