About Us
Early music has always haunted me, followed me, nourished me. As a child I listened to Dominico Scarlatti and Henry Percell on my parents Hi-fi (yes, back then we called them Hi-fi's) while the British Invasion was ensuing from the Beatles. I was unimpressed ....(turns out I was also wrong). I was enrolled in the Columbus Boy Choir School of Princeton N.J., and made the concert choir. The troupe toured Europe in the Spring of 1963 performing light opera by Wolfgang Mozart with sets and in costume and also other concert reprertoire. My interest in guitar started here. I have been playing Wedding ceremony music since I was a younger man of 19 and within the last decade have discovered the Renaissance Lute, having 'crossed over' to the rich beauty of lutesong, I am now able to provide my wedding clients with the lovely tone, range and timbre that only the lute can provide. My current repretoire includes Renaissance, Elizabethan, Baroque lutesong, and above all, Celtic transcriptions of some of the works of 17th Century harpist Turlough O'Carolan and other traditional Irish music. I would love to have the opportunity to host you and your intended at my home for an evening of lutesong to explore your musical tastes, and try, to the utmost of my abilities, to 'taylor' acoustically your wedding day to what you already hear in your heart of that day. For intimate sit down dinners, cocktail hours after the ceremony, I can also provide your guests with ambient music on the Renaissance lute, arch-guitar, and even the Irish flute .
