I have seen Celeste Studios 'in action' at a recent wedding and can tell you they take every opportunity to capture the feelings and love of the day! They are completely professional, unobtrusive, and really create amazing work!
We really love working with Celeste Studios.... professional, artistic and amazing editing! Through their eyes, every wedding becomes a love story feature film or rockin' reception music video, so much cooler than any standard boring video. Two Thumbs Up from us!
Janice is one of the hardest working people I know. You might think that this would make her sour or dry.....THINK AGAIN! Each time I speak with her I am always impressed by her newfound excitement and earnestness to provide exceptional service. This combination of talent, determination and kindness is truly priceless.
What a pleasant people to work with! Janice and Michael are very professional and fun working with. I specifically wanted to mention how unobtrusive Janice and Michael are, I hardly notice them during the shoots. I highly recommend Celeste Studios for any celebrations!

Frequently Asked Questions
Videography Details
What primary style, such as traditional or documentary, do you identify with?
Our shooting style is not ordinary. We represent a new generation of wedding videos. We shoot artistically and cinematically. Our style is fun, emotional, and romatic. Our goal is to make you laugh and cry everytime you watch your wedding video.
What types, such as unedited footage or special effects, of videography do you offer?
Three cameras, two cameras, or one. You request it and we make it happen. We do it all. If you want the unedited footage, just let us know and we'll add it to your package.
Describe any special editing services you offer:
We offer non-linear editing with minimum, tasteful and elegant effects.
Do you have lighting equipment to accommodate a more dimly-lit event?
We prefer not to use bright lights and use a lot of natural lighting in our shots as we don't want to ruin your special moments by shining a light in your eyes. If needed, we'll use only an on-camera light that is 10-20 watts with a diffused softbox to make sure you look your best. We also don't want your guests squinting on your video. We do have lighting packages for other types of shoots, such as interviews in our studio.
Does the bride get to meet the videographers before the wedding?
We accomodate our brides. If the bride wants to meet with us, we will meet with them at our office or we will come to them. About 80 percent of our brides book us online without us ever meeting. They love our style. They know what they want and that's just fine too.
How many videographers do you work with?
We have a team of videographers who work for us. We can provide you with one, two, or three videographers for your event.
Do you guarantee your presence at the actual event?
If the bride requests the presence of a particular videographer, we make sure that videographer is the one who will be shooting your wedding.
Do you book yourself for more than one wedding in a day? Weekend?
We prefer to shoot only one wedding a day in order to give our couples our full and dedicated attention on their day. We do schedule more than one wedding in a weekend.
Do you have a replacement videographer in case you become unavailable on the wedding day?
Absolutely. We have a network of videographers who we use regularly as staff and are on-call in-case of an emergency - but it hasn't happenned yet!
What kind of equipment do you typically bring with you on the day-of?
All of our equipment is contained in two rolling cases. One case contains our cameras and filters and the other contains stabalizing devices such as a small tripod, etc.
Do you bring back-up equipment to the event in case of malfunction?
Yes, we have back-up cameras, back-up microphones, back-up batteries and back-up camera lights, tons of digital/HD tapes, a repair kit, a first aid kit, and a bridal emergency kit.
Do you require a meal break? If yes, do you require that the wedding party provide your meal?
Yes, if the wedding is longer than 4 hours, we ask that the couple provide a meal for the videographers.
How many breaks do you usually take throughout the day?
Usually we'll have only one break and that is just to have dinner. Some weddings that we shoot are 15 hours long, if this is the case then we will take a break when there is nothing to shoot. We only take a break when one there is down time. We don't want to miss a thing!
Do you charge overtime?
Your agreement with us will be for up to 8 hours. In your agreement, it will state that if your event runs longer, we will approach you and ask you if you want us to stay for a fee. You will NEVER have any surprise charges with us.
Do you give access to your raw footage?
Yes, the raw footage is included with our HD package and is available for purchase if not included with your package.
Do you reserve the right to use a video in the future for promotions, contests, etc.?
Yes, unless you request that we do not. This change can be made right on the agreement.
Is the bride involved in the editing process? If so, how much input does the bride have in editing?
Editing a wedding is very time consuming. Since most of our brides don't have hours upon hours available to sit with us, we give our brides a six-page Event Information Sheet to complete to assist us with the editing process and to help us to get to know the couple better. Since we can spend up to 200 hours editing the footage, it's not practical for the bride to be involved in the entire editing process. Our brides hire us because they love our editing style and they realize that we are experts at what we do; however it is the couple's wedding and we are here to please them. We do allow brides a chance to request changes within two weeks of receiving the final product at no extra charge. We do charge a sitting-fee if the bride wants to sit with us at the final stages of the editing process.
How long does it take for the bride to get the video?
Every wedding we produce is unique and not one is a cookie-cutter process. We take pride in our artistic process and use the same editing techniques as Hollywood movie editors. We provide a link to an Editing Queue on our website so that you will always know where your wedding is in our editing process.

Tips and Advice

10 Tips to Improve Your Wedding Video

1. Inform your bridal party to be aware of the camera and to assist by slightly and subtly stepping aside so that the videographer can get the best shot, especially if the altar area is tight or if there is a Chuppah.

2. Facing the guests during the ceremony, instead of the officiant, gives you the best shots for your video and photos.

3. Smoking, eating and chewing generally looks bad on video. We will take care not to include video where these things occur. Chewing gum is the most common occurrence.

4. Please inform your photographer that you expect him to work with the videographers and coordinate his/her shoots and movements with us.

5. Consider asking your officiant to request that the guests stay seated during the ceremony to avoid blocking the official videographer and photographer's shots.

6. The groom will wear a wireless microphone. Be assured that his private comments won't be heard by the guests and won't become public. We request that the groom doesn't turn off the microphone or adjust the microphone set up.

7. Try not to react to the presence of the camera, especially turning away from the camera as this usually renders the footage unusable. When in doubt whether to look at the photographer or the videographer, always, always look at your photographer!

8. The video will generally look better if the lights at the ceremony and reception locations aren't turned down too low. As the maitre'd to keep the lights up at the reception for traditional moments like toasts, cake cutting, garter, and for the bouquet toss.

9. Outdoor weddings will look much better if it can be set up so that the bride, groom and guests aren't in the direct full sunlight. Shady areas work best.

10. Please request your guests to stand behind the official videographer and photographer when taking photos of key moments such as the ring exchange, the kiss, the garter removal, the bouquet toss, and the cake cutting. Your officiant and DJ can make these announcements for you. Over zealous guests and even young children can block these important shots if they don't understand the importance of why you hired professionals or if they are just being in the moment.
