Do you offer special techniques such as hand-coloring or toning?
It is my personal opinion that hand-coloring looks unnatural and also dates your photos. I won't ever choose to hand-color an image unless requested for an image or two by the bride and groom. I LOVE bright colors, black & whites, and subtle vintage tones.
Do you have experience shooting in various lighting situations?
Yes! I am not afraid of any kind of lighting situation that is thrown at me.
Is your media preference film or digital?
Digital, baby.
How many photographers do you work with?
Just me! I have an assistant, usually my husband, who comes with me to all shoots and helps with equipment, lighting, and other miscellaneous tasks so that I can focus on what I love best. The photography.
Do you guarantee your presence at the actual event?
Yes. If, God forbid, something were to happen on or before the wedding day where it is a physical impossibility for me to be there, I have a few professional photographer friends that I can call and ask to replace me.
Do you sometimes book yourself for more than one event in a day? Weekend?
Only one wedding per day. I may book more than one wedding per weekend, but usually I try to keep it at one per weekend since I need time to physically recover and to back up files.
What kind of equipment do you typically bring with you on the day-of?
Camera, lenses, flash, manuals, reflector disc, & memory cards.
Do you charge hourly or full day?
All of my wedding packages include unlimited wedding day coverage.
What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal?
I don't take "official breaks". I am always ready to shoot. During dinner, my camera will always be near me in case I need to shoot spontaneous happenings.
Do you charge for travel?
All of my packages include free travel for weddings within 150 miles of Charlotte. Anything over 150 miles requires airfare or gas, hotel & car rentals (if applicable). Airfare will need to be bought for two, my assistant and I.
How soon after the event are the proofs ready for viewing?
A sneak peek of my favorites will be blogged within the week as a taste of what's to come when the rest of the images will be posted in an online password-protected gallery within 8-12 weeks.
In what format are the initial proofs offered?
Online via a password-protected site.
Do you retain the copyright for the photos?
Yes. The bride and groom will be allowed to print the photos up to any size at any lab of their choice. They have the right to use the photos for personal purposes. No commercial use.
Do you reserve the right to publish the photos?
Yes.
Do you provide the digital files and/or negatives (or copies of the negatives) to the client?
Yes. EVERY wedding package I offer includes a CD containing the edited wedding day images and will also receive a reproduction release signed by myself. (The Engagement session that is included in every package includes a 16x20 from that session with the option to purchase that CD for $500.)
Will images be available for viewing online?
Yes. They will be in a password-protected online gallery for 3 months.
What kind of albums do you offer?
High Quality flush mount coffee table book albums in either a square, landscape or portrait orientation. I use an amazing eco-friendly album company and their craftsmanship is top notch.
When will the client get the final album?
Usually about 4-6 months after the wedding day, as long as emails are being answered by the bride/groom in a timely manner.
