My goal is to sound as full as any band. With my professionally mixed backing tracks using digital sound banks, audio recordings of real instruments, and 3 different sequencer programs I achieve a full band sound. 40 years of playing and practicing, my vocals, keyboards, lead and rhythm guitars all help to create an evening of enjoyable music.

My song list is extremely varied and I will adapt it to your event. I play electric lead guitar solos to rock and light jazz songs.. Sing top 40, country, and classic ballads. Choosing the most popular songs from my over 40 years of experience and picking up some new ones. I'm sure I can satisfiy even the most discerning audience

I do not make set lists. I don't believe in them. Choosing and playing the songs on the fly allows me to read the crowd and adjust what I am playing to fit the mood of the people listening and the dancers.

In my opinion, performing should be a dialogue between the entertainer and the audience. Using set lists makes it more of a lecture than a dialogue and I don't think it is the best way to entertain a crowd.

My business is entertainment. That entertainment depends on my music, appearance, stage appeal, overall sound quality and my ability to react to the audience.

I started playing guitar at age 10. I played with classic rock bands in Michigan till I moved to Arizona in my early 20's. There it was mostly country bands with a little classic rock. I was so used to having a keybaord player, and since they were so scarce, I learned how to play keyboards, When I moved to Florida in 2003, I began working on my solo career. I am a USCG Captain which is why the name Captain John.
