Describe your DJ style:
Intelligent, fun-filled, family oriented, and cheese-less.
What is your usual attire?
Tux preferred, suit if requested.
If you do not have one of the songs pre-requested by the client, do you require that they provide it?
In rare cases of obscure and/or out-of-print eclectic tracks, then yes. Downloading from internet pirate music sites is illegal and therefore never an option.
How many other DJs do you work with?
Solo operator.
What is the minimum amount of time you will DJ for?
Client's choice.
Is the client able to meet the DJ before booking?
Of course. Whatever makes the client happy, warm, and comfortable.
Do you specialize in any ethnic or international events?
No ethnicity presents any major challenge and have handled Greek, Polish, Armenian, Italian, German, Puerto Rican, Korean, and Jewish (traditional) weddings with ease.
Do you bring your own equipment?
Yes.
What (if any) special equipment, such as disco balls or lighting, is offered with your service?
Yes. Music Videos presented on a 52" lcd screen are part of the standard package. Lasers, smoke machines, foggers, and bubble machines are health and safety hazards thus not an offering.
I bring a generator to every event. Even though the power may go completely out, I'm running at 100% full service and system capacity. What do other DJs do when there's a power failure?
How much time do you usually need to set up? Do you require that the site or client provide a table for you to set up on?
Set up time depends on customer's needs and special requirements, and is my contracted responsibility to be 100% ready to go on time. My average set up time is about 45 minutes from arrival to first note. I provide my own table and skirting.
Do you have any extra space requirements?
No.
Do you usually emcee the event or talk between songs?
I am the Master of Ceremonies and DJ. When talking is needed, I do. When it is not, I don't. (This is a weird question, isn't it? How does one coordinate reception activities, in sign language?)
What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal?
No.
Will you arrange for recorded music to play during your breaks?
Not applicable.
What is your backup plan in case you become unavailable on the day of the event?
Yes, unless I'm hit by a bus and killed on the way to the event. Then there's no guarantee but my widow will try anyway.
What is your overtime rate?
Depends on package selection.
Do you charge for travel expenses? If yes, how much do you charge?
Travel fees apply for out-of-area events. Standard service area is Coxsackie (south), Lake George (north), Johnstown (west) and Castleton (east).
