About us

From romantic to rustic, natural to nocturne, we will bring to life creative flower designs that will leave you breathless and on budget.

We’re an intimate home-based flower business located in Gilbert.  Butterfly Petals works directly with floral wholesalers to provide you the highest quality flowers for your wedding, with the attention to detail that you can't find with other, bigger florist shops.

We handle weddings of all sizes and budgets..

If you’re planning a destination wedding, we are one of the only florists in Phoenix that can provide you with full-service destination wedding flowers! We can help you plan your wedding in person in Phoenix or over the phone and email (if you don't live in the Phoenix Metro area), and we'll come to you for your wedding anywhere in the world that you are getting married - fantastic locations like Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Baja Mexico, Spain, etc! We also cater to "out of town" Arizona destination weddings in Sedona, Fountain Hills,Greer, Flagstaff, etc.

As many of our brides have a busy schedule, we will work with you on your own terms and timeframe. If you prefer, we can even arrange to meet you at a convenient location for you.  Consultation appointments are available for weekdays, evenings and weekends.

Our Approach

I offer a very personalized approach to your wedding flowers and will help you determine the flowers that best suit your personality, wedding theme, color scheme, etc.  You can have the flowers of your dreams, and I can help by offering the creativity you expect from your florist while keeping you on budget.

Because each and every wedding is as special and unique an experience as you are a person, I take a specialized, custom approach to your flowers.  Based on the flowers and design you want, I will tailor a package for you to give you the flowers you want within a budget you can afford.

I love the creativity of designing flowers based on your hobbies, lifestyle, etc.  Many of my brides also have distinctive styles, from period weddings to unconventional color schemes and themes.  We understand that you are unique, and your flowers should be too!  I can capture your own inner spark for your special day.

I have worked as a Photographer on a few weddings that Amanda has done gorgeous flowers for. You should see brides faces light up when Amanda walks in with her beautiful arrangements! They're very unique and creative, and as a Photographer, it's a joy to have amazing flowers to photograph with my amazing brides.
Butterfly Petals is a trendy up to date design stuido! I would highly recommend their work to anyone~
Amanda has the grooviest, funkiest, earthiest wedding designs I have ever seen, and I LOVE her sense of style. She has definitely found her design soul and her great work and great reviews are proof that she and her designs are well-loved in the Phoenix area. Her prices are reasonable which makes many brides able to afford her great sense of style. If you love eco or organic wedding design, Butterfly Petals is the designer of choice. PS: there are 2 sides to every story; don't let one bad review make your choice for you; and for the record, just on two notes, although I could touch them all, I believe that Amanda did NOT touch that cake, and yes, her photos are her own photos of her own work (that was very inappropriate for that person to insinuate otherwise)!
Amanda is one of the most talented florists I have met. She is truly an inspirational artist. She is very creative and easy to talk to. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a great wedding experience!
Amanda has been great to work with. She's been very professional and has a fantastic feel for what a client wants.
Butterfly Petals is great to work with! Amanda is always on time, is prompt with communication, extremely flexible, and of course-insanely creative! Her work speaks for itself; every bouquet I see of hers continues to amaze me. Amanda can create anything you can imagine and then some. I highly recommend her to all my brides.
Amanda is amazing! Creative and insightful, down to the last detail, Amanda will work with your budget and your desires for your wedding flowers to make your dreams come true. In addition to all of that, the quality of her work is superb, I would recommend Butterfly Petals to any bride!
Amanda is one of the nicest floral designers I know. If you are looking for a flora designer who cares about the quality of her work and your event, I highly recommend you give her.

Additional Questions and Answers
How do I contact you?

All of our contact information is on our website: www.butterflypetals.com. We are email addicts but phone works as well.

Do you offer in-house flowers?

One of the drawbacks of our in-home business is that I do not keep an "inventory" of fresh flowers. I can however order them in prior to your consultation or can order them for a second consultation. We also offer a design session "mock up" to help you envision your flowers before you decide. There is a fee for this service. Contact us for more information.

Consultations are by appointment only. We do offer evening, weekday, and weekend (including Sunday) consultation appointments to accommodate your schedule. We also offer off-site consultations for brides located on the other side of town.

Tips and Advice

As a designer, I think about flowers all day. I dream about them, I play with them, I arrange them, I plant them--but that's me. Not everyone is a flower nut. And that's ok. If your flower experience is limited to the occasional Valentine, you're not alone. Choosing your wedding flowers can be a daunting task. On top of all your other wedding decisions you have to make decisions regarding bouquets, centerpieces, boutonnieres, corsages, flowers girls, the list goes on. I hope I can make the whole process a little smoother. Below are some helpful tips to get you started. Also, feel free to print our wedding flowers checklist (see botom of the page). If I know which flowers you are interested in, quotes and consultations are easy as pie!

Describe Your Style

Are you a free spirit or do you prefer both feet planted firmly on the ground? A girly girl? A no-frills kind of gal? Don't know? Your wedding flowers should be an expression of your style and personality.  Too many florists in the industry limited your decisions to dress style and "rules." I like to give you the freedom to design the flowers that sum up who you are. After all, every vendor you meet will refer to your wedding as "your special day."  Your home decor is a perfect starting point when picturing your style. Is it simple and understated? Modern? Shabby Chic? Describe yourself and I can help describe your perfect wedding flowers. Explore our work at www.butterflypetals.com/ourwork.htm to get inspired!

Pick Your Colors, But Don't Be Afraid of Them!

Most brides start with the dress and then move to the "wedding colors." I receive countless phone calls where I hear the words "and my colors are...." Which is great--you should have flowers that mesh with your overall wedding feel. But don't limit your colors to a two-tonal color palette. Explore a color wheel and play with contrasts. A black and white color scheme does not limit you to only white flowers--bring in pinks, oranges, greens, chances are this is the only day where you will be surrounded by flowers so go crazy. I can help you play with contrasts or complimentary shades for your color scheme.

'Tis the Season

As you shop for wedding flowers, you will hear time and time again that you save money when you design with flowers that are "in-season." But don't limit yourself to a design to fit the calendar. So you're getting married in November, you don't necessarily have to go with "fall" colors--be bold and choose in-season blooms in rich shades that suit you.  Another seasonal concern, especially in Arizona is the weather. We are running the a/c more often than not--and some flowers just can't take the heat. If a flower is in season but might wilt or droop -I will help you pick a suitable alternative. I want you to have the look and feel you want but with flowers that will last into the night and might even be waiting for you when you come back from your honeymoon!

Your Budget

This is probably the least fun you will have when planning your wedding--the dreaded budget. A lot of sites and florists will encourage you to reserve 8 to 12% of your overall budget just for your flowers--this can be a little misleading. An average wedding can cost over $20,000.00. That's $1,600.00 for your wedding flowers. But what if you don' t have a large bridal party? At Butterfly Petals we don't want you to feel limited by cost concerns. We work with your real budget to get you the flowers you want for the price you can afford. Don't be shy about letting me know your desired budget.  Too often I have brides call me and say "I love callas but I know I can't afford them." Yes, you can! And other blooms too. I can help you incorporate high-end flowers into your designs and still come within your budget. I've designed wedding flowers for brides with $250.00 budgets all the way to $2500.00 budgets.  I am not shy about helping you save money either--if there is a less expensive alternative, I will help you find it!
