I believe in love and parties and special, unplanned moments. I believe in marriage equality. I believe in doing weddings the way YOU want to do them, not the way the industry tells you it needs to be done. I believe your wedding is a huge, special, important celebration, but that it is only one day. The marriage is the important part and I would hope that you focus as much on planning a successful marriage as you do planning this kick-ass party.

I also believe that you should be able to relax and enjoy your own event without worrying about the running of it. Sometimes it'll work to ask a friend to help, but sometimes it's best to hire a pro. Having a wedding coordinator ensures that you can sit back and enjoy your big day, knowing someone ELSE is overseeing the details. Someone who has done this many times before. Someone that can handle any hiccups that may occur.

When hiring a coordinator (or any vendor) for your wedding, my best advice is to look for someone you connect with, someone that helps you relax and smile, someone you enjoy being around and someone that recognizes and understands your values. Everyone that is helping to make your day happen should be just as excited about it as you are - why would you want to work with anyone who feels otherwise?
