About Us
Béke Beau began her journey in beauty in New York City as an apprentice to celebrity make-up artist Laura Geller. She was introduced to a broad range of techniques, including bridal, print and television. She was later associated with friend and make-up artist Kimara Ahnert, known for her elegant studio on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Béke continued to work on high-profile events, such as the weddings of actress Catherine Zeta-Jones and pop star Joey McIntyre. She has been honored, as well, to do make-up for VIPs like Tipper Gore, Judith Nathan Giuliani, actor James Earl Jones, and designer Nicole Miller. Ivy League educated, Béke is philosophical about her work: "I love what make-up does for a woman’s confidence and self-image, and I’m grateful to have a role in each and every transformation.” Béke’s other passion is doing her part to help preserve the environment through exploring the use of safe, natural and cruelty-free products. She insists that “women can look every bit as glamorous without the chemical preservatives and other ingredients that raise health concerns.” Béke’s work has been recognized by Philadelphia Magazine, Brides Magazine Philadelphia (Editor’s Choice 2011), Main Line Today (Best Make-up Artist for Brides 2010), and Main Line Media News (Best Make-up Artist 2011). Her work has also been featured on national wedding blogs and publications, including Style Me Pretty, Ruffled, and Southern Wedding. A member of the Sustainable Business Network, Béke is also active in the Main Line Chamber of Commerce’s Society of Professional Women and Go Green Committee. She is an adjunct faculty member at Immaculata University and has taught for both Temple University and Main Line School Night. Béke is a member of the Harvard-Radcliffe Club of Philadelphia. She is married to event designer Christopher Carlson. |
