Additional Questions and Answers
Q: What does "custom design" mean?

A: Quite simply, a custom designed wedding invitation is not one that appears in our catalogue. It is created by working closely with you, to design the invitation of your dreams. An invitation that is a unique reflection of your day, your theme and your personal style.

Q: I like what I see in the catalogue, but can I make a few simple changes?

A: Fonts and colors, even images! The sky's the limit! (Consultation required)*

Q: We have chosen colors for our wedding that are not in your palette? Can you accommodate us?

A: Certainly. We will make every attempt possible to work with your color sample.*

Q: What if we have an idea of how we want our seating chart to be, (or place cards, or programs etc) but we don't see anything like it on your site?

A: Show us your ideas, or explain them to us as best you can and we'll do everything in our power to create them for you. (Barring copyright infringements etc!)

Q: Do you have specialty papers or envelopes available?

A: We do have many specialty paper options available, subject to price and availability. Consultation required.*

Q: Is it possible to choose a font that's not on your list?

A: In most cases it is! Let us know the name of the particular font you have in mind and we'll let you know if it is available.

Q: How can I know that the colour I want will match the colour you represent on your website?

A: While every attempt is made to match your colour please keep in mind the on-screen colour representation is not necessarily precise representations of actual print colours. For an exact colour match, please consult a Pantone PMS color chart available at any local print shop or art supply store.

Q: I have more questions!

A: No problem! Contact us at info@bigorangedesigs.com, or phone toll-free: 1-866-935-4746, (locally please use 519-658-9086) and we'll chat!

* Specialty papers not available to online purchases unless arrangements have been made with Big Orange Designs.

Tips and Advice
Dear potential clients,
It’s been an incredible journey being in the wedding business the past couple of years, we’ve learned so much!! Allow us to share some tips with you that we hope you’ll find invaluable when choosing your wedding stationery.

Go with your gut! If you’ve always had your heart set on a particular colour or style, don’t let nay-sayers change your mind! It’s wonderful to have the advice and support of a good friend or family member, but like the old saying goes...too many cooks, spoil the broth! We’ve seen many a bride and groom get flustered and bewildered by the numerous comments and opinions of well intentioned friends and family, but when it comes down to it...it’s your day! Have it your way!

Beware the Perils of D.I.Y Invitation kits!!

As you browse the aisles of your big box business supply store (and sometimes even your local and equally gigantic grocery store!), you might spot the latest in do-it-yourself wedding invitation kits. Their neatly packaged, trendy designs are so eye-catching, you think to yourself, ’I can do that!’ I’ll save us a money by doing it myself and they’ll look fantastic!

WARNING: Unless you have a degree in ’printer malfunction science’ with a minor in ’text layout’ or don’t mind losing sleep and sprouting a few grey hairs... These kits are not for the faint of heart!

Here are some common complaints we’ve heard from couples just like you, hoping to have beautiful stationery and save money along the way. (After all, who doesn’t love to save money?!?!)

A) The printing goes horribly wrong. Either the text is not lining up correctly, the paper jams, your printer has decided to choose this moment to leave nasty little ink blobs on the corners, or worse, you can’t seem to create the perfect colour for your font.

B) You end up going back to the store for MORE kits after ruining the first batch, and now you’ve no longer saved yourself any money, let alone the energy and time you’ve put into this.

C) You go back to the store to find the kit you’ve been using is discontinued. Yes, this has happened and we received the phone call from the panic-stricken bride.

D) You buy the kit, and after realizing how frustrating the whole process is, take it to your local print shop to see if they will do it for you, only to find they won’t touch them with a ten foot pole. Yes, we got that phone call too!

With the budget conscious ’do-it-yourselfer’ in mind, we have introduced a brand new line of wedding invitations priced to compete with the big box retail store kits.

Introducing… D.I.Y.? Why?

This is a brand new line of wedding invitations that are sharp, savvy and will save you money, without the hassle of a D.I.Y. project. Choose from many different patterns that are available in a wide variety of colours and you can even choose your font! Your invitation set includes a 5x7 panel style invitation, with matching RSVP and BOTH envelopes.

As planning a wedding involves so many decisions, choices and demands on the pocket book, we feel this is a fabulous new alternative for couples who want fabulous stationery without breaking the bank.
