Do you have experience shooting in various lighting situations?
I've worked in probably every lighting scenario out there, from dim candle light to glaring Texas sun. I will discuss your wedding with you before hand to determine if any special equipment will be needed to ensure that your wedding images will be a beautiful and accurate representation of your event.
Is your media preference film or digital?
I shoot 100% digital.
How many photographers do you work with?
I work with one assistant/second photographer at every wedding. Additional photographers are available for larger weddings.
Do you guarantee your presence at the actual event?
Yes I am at every wedding I am hired for. I have two photographers that I work with and train and I do have a package where they will be photographing your event. If you choose that package, then I will not be present. This is the last stage of their training. Gotta cut the chord some time :)
Do you sometimes book yourself for more than one event in a day? Weekend?
No. I never photograph 2 weddings on the same day. I will sometimes photograph 2 weddings on the same weekend as long as I have sufficient time between the weddings to rest and recharge.
Do you have a replacement photographer in case you become unavailable on the day of the event?
Yes. I always have a back up plan in place and replacements are available for me or my assistant if necessary.
What kind of equipment do you typically bring with you on the day-of?
I photograph using Nikon digital cameras and I have a variety of lenses. Other accessories I bring include flashes, reflectors, battery packs, and plenty of back up equipment.
Do you bring back-up equipment to the event in case of malfunction?
Yes. I have carry back up cameras with me that are ready to go in a few seconds if needed.
Do you charge hourly or full day?
Most of my weddings are based on a full eight hour work day. In my experience I've found that eight hours is more than enough to cover most weddings. However we can absolutely add more hours to accomodate your event if you would like.
Are you available to shoot extra hours? If yes, how much do you charge for extra hours?
See above question.
What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal?
We only require 1 break for a meal during an eight hour day. We really enjoy what we do and are very comfortable shooting for long periods of time. And with two photographers, you're sure to be covered incase one of us needs to step away for a minute to change batteries.
Do you charge for travel?
Yes we do charge a travel fee for weddings outside of the DFW Metroplex depending on location and mode of travel, but that can be discussed during our consultation.
How soon after the event are the proofs ready for viewing?
I will treat the images that are taken at your event as the special memories that they are...not as snapshots. I meticulously go through each image and make sure that they are print ready before our proofing session. This can sometimes take 3-4 weeks depending on the number of images taken at your event. If it is going to take longer than 20 days I will put the highlight images of the day into a slideshow and post that online for you to view as a "teaser" until your images are completely perfect for you.
In what format are the initial proofs offered?
We will schedule an initial proofing session in our office. Each couple will receive a data DVD with the images from your wedding day and a copyright license. digital negatives
How long can the client keep the proofs?
The DVD of images from your wedding day is yours to keep.
Do you retain the copyright for the photos?
Yes. The photographer retains the copyright for their work, however you will receive a copyright license letter that gives you the ability to print, email and post your images online...as long as it's not for commercial gain :)
Do you reserve the right to publish the photos?
Yes. We reserve the right to use your images for our marketing, online galleries, etc. We have signed confidentiality agreements for high profile clients in the past and that is something we can discuss if you wish.
Do you provide the digital files and/or negatives (or copies of the negatives) to the client?
Yes. See the above questions.
Will images be available for viewing online?
Online galleries are available.
What kind of albums do you offer?
We offer several different styles of albums. We can show you samples of these during our consultation.
