New Update: Amanda K. Makeup is leaving the Tampa area in February 2011. I will miss you, my beautiful Florida brides! I will update my new city when I have settled in.

As a child I recall drawing eyes all over my school folders, some with long lashes, some with spiky lashes, some with colored crayons and some shaded with just a light pencil. When it occurred to me that I could draw on real eyes for a living, I went straight to school to learn as much as I could about skin care and makeup. After graduating, I started at a spa in Las Vegas, NV that helped define my views on the importance of proper skin care and preventative maintenance. In the meantime whenever the opportunity arose, I honed my makeup application skills until I was lucky enough to get hired at the MAC counter right on the Las Vegas strip. While working for MAC and even beyond, the next 7 years were spent always learning, evolving and becoming the makeup artist that I am today. Whether it’s working on fashion shows in Las Vegas, weddings on top of casinos, music video shoots, or just helping a woman to look beautiful because it’s her birthday; the joy I get from makeup artistry has only gotten stronger. I hope to be able to share my skills and knowledge with you, be it for your wedding, modeling portfolio or just because you have always wondered how to do that “smoky eye” on yourself!
