Albemarle Baking Company is great. Their cakes are consistently beautiful and delicious. I highly recommend them, and used them for my own wedding.

Do you offer private tastings or open house tastings? After an initial consultation, we can prepare a custom-tailored sample for you to pick-up and take home.

What are your tasting hours? Consultations are by appointment only, and scheduled Monday through Fridays during business hours. See below for Saturday appointments.

Describe how you price, such as by slice or by tier, for your cakes? In most cases, our cakes are priced by the tier.

Does the price include the top-tier of the cake? We offer a complimentary one-year anniversary cake made fresh.

Do you offer custom cakes, or do you work with pre-designed styles? You can select a design from our portfolio, or we can design a cake to your specifications.

What (if any) special ingredients, such as fresh fruits or farm-fresh butter, do you use in your cakes? We only use all natural ingredients in all of our breads, pastries, and cakes. We do not use shortenings or trans-fats in any of our baking. We favor local and organic ingredients when they are available.

What (if any) dietary restrictions, such as kosher, can you accommodate? Selections are limited, but we will consider all of our options to accommodate your needs.

On average, how far in advance of the wedding day do you prepare the cake? Our wedding cakes are generally started the day before the wedding.

On average, how many wedding cakes do you do for a weekend? We can accommodate up to two cakes per wedding day.

Will you work with the bride's florist to garnish the cake? Of course.

What (if any) cake accessories, such as a cake stand or cake cutter, do you rent out? Cake accessories can be rented through most local catering supply companies.

Do you offer delivery? If yes, how much is your average delivery fee? Yes. The average wedding cake delivery fee is $25.

Are you licensed by the state health department? Yes

Wedding cakes require the greatest attention to quality and detail, especially on Saturdays when we are applying the finishing touches to the cakes as they are being prepared for transportation. To ensure the highest commitment to our customers, we do not schedule appointments on Saturdays when we have existing wedding cake contracts. If you already have a contract with us, and absolutely must meet on a Saturday, we will do our best to accommodate your schedule. We appreciate your understanding and hope that we can offer the same level of commitment to you.
