Be a smart shopper. Use vendors that come highly recommended. Check their record with the Better Business Bureau. Don’t be bashful about asking for references and call previous clients before making an appointment. You don’t want to waste your precious time. |

If you find yourself telling a friend you are unable to include her in your wedding, offer her an alternate way to be included. Have her read a poem or scripture in the ceremony. That tells her that she means something to you and that you want her to be a part of your special day. |

If your parents are financially contributing to the wedding they should have a say in who gets invited. If you seem to have too many guests, ask them to pick up the tab for those they want to invite. |

Go for a practice session with your hairstylist before the big day. You don’t want to leave angry on your wedding day and go home to do your own hair. |

Don’t let last minute details throw you off. Just try to enjoy your day and remember you are not having brain surgery….you are getting married to the man you love! Think about the honeymoon! |

Be there before the bride! Do not be late - and make sure your half of the wedding party is on time too, even the ring bearer! |

As the groom you will be required to make a speech. A few points to remember: Most importantly, compliment your new spouse and don’t be afraid to openly express you affection for her. Then similar praise is due the bridesmaids. Obviously you will thank your parents, the bride’s parents and your groomsmen. And if you want to win a few points, make special mention of the bride’s mother and how lovely she looks this evening….and don’t forget your own mother either. |

Obviously your best man and groomsmen will be there and all eager to toast your new demise. Remember, this is your wedding night, so watch your intake of alcohol. Drunk is not the condition in which to spend your first night of marital bliss. |

If you are not leaving immediately on a honeymoon, organize in advance what you are going to do for your first night together. If it is to be a hotel, pick a nice one and enjoy using the room service. |

Weddings are a big event and they take a lot of planning. Very rarely does every detail go perfectly. This may not seem like a big deal to you, but your bride thinks that every wedding is perfect and that hers will also be perfect! Help your bride to keep things in perspective. Truly, the things that go wrong will be the things that you look back on with the fondest memories. |
