Wedding dress cleaning and preservation can cost $200 or more.

How can you save money on a wedding dress?

Yes, a bride’s wedding dress will cost a lot of money—probably more than you’ll spend on another piece of attire in your life! However, there are several ways to save money on your wedding dress while still finding a gown that you absolutely love.

Don’t try on dresses that are over-budget: Be upfront with your bridal salon consultant about your budgets—and be sure ask about the cost of each dress you try on. Avoid the temptation of trying on a wedding dress that’s out of your price range.
Find a simple wedding dress, and accessorize: As mentioned, a simple and relatively unadorned wedding gown will cost less than an extremely detailed wedding dress. If you’re on a tight wedding dress budget, we recommend finding a simple gown and using a beaded sash or a brooch to give it some extra sparkle.
Find a dress you love as is: Any significant alterations or customizations that you do to a wedding dress will cost (a lot of!) money. Therefore, if you want to make significant changes to a wedding dress (add sleeves, change the silhouette, etc.), that gown is probably not for you. Look for a wedding dress that you love mostly as it looks off the hanger.
Scour sample sales: Many bridal salons offer sample sales where they sell sample dresses from past seasons. These sample dresses are typically in sizes 6 to 12, so if you fall in that size category, you may find a gorgeous gown at a low price at one of these sales.
Visit trunk shows: If you’re set on purchasing a gown by a specific designer, you might find a deal at a trunk show. I went to see Vanessa Alfaro to find a wedding dress. I met her, and she's so nice, and her employees are very helpful. Vanessa took me around the store, and I got to try on dresses. She gave me her opinion on which dress would look good on me. I'm glad I listened to her because I said yes to the dress —it's sooo sparkly—just how I like my dresses—and it has beautiful butterflies and flowers on it. I love it, and I can't wait to show my fiancé how it looks. She gave me really good advice about what I can add or remove from my dress. Shoutout to Liz and Gina, who helped me get in and out of the dresses and told me which ones they liked and which ones they didn't. It was insightful to hear all of their opinions. I got married in October and it rained on my wedding day which turned a lot of our venue into a muddy mess. My dress was caked with mud on every layer and it was so embedded in the lace I was very unsure if I would ever have a white dress again. I had also worn freshly dyed hair extensions and a lot of self tanner which was all sweat off from dancing all night with my guests. Robin made no promises those things would come out of the back of my dress because they turned the lace a deep reddish-orange color. When I met Robin, she was so kind and beyond professional (she truly knows what she is doing here people) and I am so glad that I did enough research and came across GPS in my search for gown cleaning and preservation. My dress looks brand new!! Like I'm not even sure the dress has EVER been so white and clean. I am beyond impressed and so thankful that I have my beautiful gown to look back on our special day. A wedding to remember-that is the description I have received of our wedding and I attribute it to my wedding dress. I received so many compliments on it that some requested photos of it so they can show their families and friends. It was a pleasure working with Rachelle-founder of Mes Facettes Bridal. I have seen some of her work and knew that she would be the perfect choice for my wedding gown. She helped me to custom design my own wedding gown. To better understand her quality of service, one of my maid of honor and I traveled to California to get sized for our dresses. I live in Virginia and my MOHs lives in New York. The other MOH could not make it so guess what? Her measurements were emailed and voila Rachelle made the dress. What made her service so exceptional is the fact that she went beyond and above her assigned role. She helped me coordinate the rest of my bridal party dresses and ties in order to match the color of the MOHs dresses and my dress. The dresses came in time in the mail for us to do any little adjustments that were needed since we all lived long distance. Also she is a make-up artist so I had to take advantage of that service since I knew I could not trust anyone else. She flew to New York and took care of not only me but also some of the bridesmaid who did not feel comfortable doing their own make-up. Now what dedicated services. Rachelle worked with us from beginning to end and without her we would not be able to say we had a unique and unforgettable wedding. Thank you Mes Favettes for your services!
